We started our meeting last night, and I forgot to start the recording, so we missed part. I did not record the actual reading of the scripture, which was Romans Chapter 2. Our next meeting will be on 11-21.

The Two Tribes and a Half 14.11.2022 14:16
Writings by J. G. Bellett Christian Friend vol. 18, 1891, p. 59. The history of the two tribes and a half has its own instruction for us and illustrates a peculiar character of mind and walk among the saints of God. They do not stand exactly with Lot of the days of Abraham, though in some respects, they remind us of him. https://plymouthbrethren.org/article/676
The Two Rich Men Luke 18, 19 14.11.2022 7:12
Writings by J. G. Bellett How beautifully the incidents recorded in the Evangelists exhibit the workings of nature and of grace. They are short and familiar but full of matter for the meditation of our hearts that we may be either warned or comforted. https://plymouthbrethren.org/article/675
The Parable of the Cedar and the Two Eagles 14.11.2022 7:16
Writings by J. G. Bellett Ezekiel 17. This cedar is Judah or the house of David; the two eagles are the king of Babylon and the king of Egypt. https://plymouthbrethren.org/article/690
The Nearness of the Glory 14.11.2022 34:28
Six papers by J. G. Bellett. The thought of the nearness of the glory should be deeply cherished by the heart. And we need be at no effort to persuade ourselves of it. It is taught us richly in the Word. The place of the glory is near us, and the path by which it can either come to us, or we go to it is short and simple, and the moment for the taking of the journey may be present in the twinkling...
The Moral Glory of the Lord Jesus Christ Part 1 14.11.2022 1:05:07
Writings by J. G. Bellett It is the Moral Glory, or, as we speak, the character of the Lord Jesus, on which I meditate in these pages. All went up to God as a sacrifice of sweet savour. Every expression of Himself in every measure, however small, and in whatever relationship, it was rendered, was incense. In His Person (but surely there only), the man was reconciled to God. In Him, God...
The Heavenly Calling Foreshown 14.11.2022 39:58
Writings by J. G. Bellett From Musings on Scripture, Vol. 1. The apostle addresses his brethren in Christ as "partakers of the heavenly calling" (Heb. 3: 1). This calling, in another scripture, is styled "the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Phil. 3: 14). And again, it is spoken of as the calling of the Father of glory (Eph. 1: 17, 18). In those who are the subjects of it God is to show in th...
The Form of a Servant 14.11.2022 2:19
Writings by J. G. Bellett In His life, Christ hides His glory "the form of God," under the "form of a servant" as illustrated in the gospels. When asked for tribute, He pays the custom for Peter and Himself by commanding a fish from the sea to bring Him that very piece of money needed. On another occasion, He was the unnoticed guest at a marriage feast, yet as the very Creator of all He furn...

The Confederacies of Men and the Judgments of God 12.11.2022 21:11
Writings by J. G. Bellett This was the language of the children of men in Genesis 11. Whether God would have it thus or not, they never thought of waiting to consider. He was not before them. They did their own pleasure. They built a city and a tower, that both name and security, glory and strength might be theirs. https://plymouthbrethren.org/article/696
The Claims of God's Sovereignty and Holiness 12.11.2022 5:08
Writings by J. G. Bellett At THESSALONICA the coming and kingdom of the Lord Jesus had been especially received through the apostle's ministry; and in the epistles to the church there he still feeds them with further light upon that great doctrine. But while he does that, he has also to correct a certain practical error which was peculiar to them. https://plymouthbrethren.org/article/693
