To close out Pavement’s triumphant 2022 tour, another gift…Back in December 2021, Spiral Stairs was our very first guest on the program. Not only is our Roxy Music episode one of our best and most popular, but Scott remains one of the greatest and most gracious guests we’ve ever had. Although initially intended solely for Discograffiti’s Deep-Diver Patreon community, as a Pavement fan I’m assuming he means as much to you as he does to me, so I couldn’t hold it back any longer.  A touching 10-minute tribute to a troubled, brilliant man, and a stroll through his consistently brilliant recordings, this is an absolute don’t-miss. Bob also talks about all the shitty Husker Du shows...

Back in December 2021, Spiral Stairs came on the show and rated Roxy Music with us (go check out Episode 9). Afterwards, we did a great little 12-minute interview with him that’s never been aired, & it’s chock full of essential off-topic hilarity…such as going to bar mitzvahs with a 13-year-old Malkmus back in Stockton; a gaggle of early band names; and the best & worst song he’s ever writ...

Welcome back to your Reunion Tour companion! Part 5 serves up another helping of indie rock’s nicest guy and most fascinating interview, as Bob doles out the honests on the all-grow’d-up pop nous of “Brighten The Corners,” not to mention sundry gold soundz from the period. Welcome to your Reunion Tour companion: an epic 8-hour interview in which Bob rates every last Pavement release and frequently wanders fascinatingly off-topic. Part 4 trains the microscope down on the White Album-like explosion of stylistic possibility that was “Wowee Zowee”…and sundry gold soundz from the era. Next Sunday: “Corners Brightened.”

Your Pavement Reunion Tour Companion keeps the party going with one of Stephen Malkmus’ favorite private presses of all time, a one-off downer garage psych concept album from 1970 out of Salem, Oregon about a guy who decides to off himself—this is absolutely one of the great Sixties comedown rekkids of all time. It’s not every day that Pavement reunites for a tour. In fact, since breaking up in 1999, it’s only happened once, in 2010…and then again this week! Huge props go to Bob Nastanovich, a true mensch, who thoroughly delivered on his promise of ruthless honesty in his assessments of the entire Pavement catalog during our epic 8 hour interview. A 6-episode series that covers the entire length of the to...
