Isaac and Rebekah were God’s special saints chosen for each other with a divine destiny awaiting them, their children, and their children’s children. But trouble-free? No way. If God has designed a plan for us, why does He throw in such difficulties? If God has chosen us, why do we suffer such pain? We can find much comfort in the story from Genesis. Read lesson: 709A

As we end our look at Lot’s life, let’s look once again at the message God wants to give us through Lot. It is the simple message that God wants total commitment and total surrender. He wants us to quit playing around in two worlds and make a decision to follow Him no matter what the cost. Read lesson: 707A

Where are you living spiritually? Have you built your home in Sodom amidst the glamour of the world? Are you beginning to accept the world’s standards of morality, of holiness, of marriage, of integrity or spirituality? Learning from Lot, we cannot afford to live in Sodom anymore. Read lesson: 706B

Stakes, altars, and roadblocks. These are reminders to stop, reminders to worship, reminders not to pass that way again. That was God’s plan for Lot, but Lot forgot. We are a lot like Lot. Read lesson: 706A

Lot’s life was a series of choices. These choices led up to inevitable disaster. Our lives are also a series of choices, and it is the little choices that are the essence of man. Lot identified with the pleasures of this world. He thought it would have no damaging effect on his life and his walk with God, but it reduced his life to ashes. Read lesson: 705B

Man’s problem and our problem is not finding the will of God, it is doing the will of God. If everyone of us purposed to obey without hesitation or compromise, we would begin to see lives that have direction, peace, strength and fellowship. God said to Noah, “Do this.” Noah heard Him, because he was available. Being available, Noah obeyed. Read lesson: 705A
