Religion EN ↓ 200 episodes

Disciples Church (DC) is part of the Calvary Chapel family of churches. DC started in 2007, as a gathering of a dozen people in Leatherhead. Matt Kottman and his family were sent out by Calvary Chapel Twickenham to start Disciples Church (then known as Calvary Chapel Leatherhead). In 2012 we changed the name of the church to reflect our passion – to follow Jesus as disciples and to live out the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), which calls us to be disciples and to make disciples.

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless...

The prophesied Saviour 22.12.2024

Who has believed what he has heard from us?    And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?2 For he grew up before him like a young plant,    and like a root out of dry ground;he had no form or majesty that we should look at him,    and no beauty that we should desire him.3 He was despised and rejected by men,    a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;and as one from whom men hide their...

Leviticus 16:1-10 – Our Rest is born 15.12.2024

The Lord spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they drew near before the Lord and died, 2 and the Lord said to Moses, “Tell Aaron your brother not to come at any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat that is on the ark, so that he may not die. For I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat. 3 But in this way Aaron shall come into the Holy Place...

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was angry. 2 And he prayed to the Lord and said, “O Lord, is not this what I said when I was yet in my country? That is why I made haste to flee to Tarshish; for I knew that you are a gracious God and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love, and relenting from disaster. 3 Therefore now, O Lord, please take my life from me, for it is bette...

Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah the second time, saying, 2 “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it the message that I tell you.” 3 So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days’ journey in breadth. 4 Jonah began to go into the city, going a day’s journey. And he called out, “Yet forty day...

Jonah 2 – Salvation belongs to the Lord 17.11.2024

Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the belly of the fish, 2 saying, “I called out to the Lord, out of my distress,    and he answered me;out of the belly of Sheol I cried,    and you heard my voice.3 For you cast me into the deep,    into the heart of the seas,    and the flood surrounded me;all your waves and your billows    passed over me.4 Then I said, ‘I am driven away    from your sig...

He went down to Joppa and found a ship going to Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish, away from the presence of the...

1 Corinthians 13 – Love 13.10.2024

If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient an...

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,    whose sin is covered.2 Blessed is the man against whom the Lord counts no iniquity,    and in whose spirit there is no deceit. 3 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away    through my groaning all day long.4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;    my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah 5 I acknowledged my sin to...

Mark 12:28-34 – How to live a Christian life today 25.08.2024

28 But if it is by the Spirit of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. 29 Or how can someone enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man? Then indeed he may plunder his house. 30 Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. 31 Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forg...
