Here’s a fun fact…every married couple fights. The difference between those who stick together and those who split…is knowing how to have a good fight. It’s not the absence of conflict…it’s the ability to manage conflict. We need to develop the skill of resolving conflict and having a good fight. A good fight strengthens, matures, and grows us up...and that’s what we will see in our passage today!

Song of Solomon 5:1-16

Song of Solomon is the Biblical Cinderella Story. As we walk verse by verse through this love story, we are discovering God’s design for love, sex, and romance. In today's message we learn that sex within marriage is the best sex...because that's the way God designed it to be.

Many couples prepare more for their wedding day…than they do preparing for their marriage. The Dream Wedding is a 1-day event. The Dream Marriage is a lifelong pursuit. It takes time and it takes work…but The Dream Marriage is so worth it!

God's way is the best way! God is the designer of relationships and He wrote the instruction manual. Let’s trust Him in this area of our life.

Song of Solomon 2:7, "I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, by the gazelles or the does of the field, that you not stir up or awaken love until it pleases."

The enemy is working overtime to trip us up and bring us down. It's time to wake up, walk in the light, and put on the armor of faith and love...to be in ready position. Why? Jesus is coming back. If you miss this…you miss everything!

Jesus is real!

As we study verse by verse through 2 Peter…we are reminding over and over to continue to grow in grace. There's always room to grow in grace and unpack what it means to be in Christ.

1 Peter 5:10-11, "And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 "To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen."

JESUS WON!

John 12:13, "So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!”

Remember...life is not a playground, it’s a battlefield. Let’s not get caught in the battle wearing board shorts and flip flops. Put on the Armor of God and let’s fight the good fight of faith. Jesus loves you and wants the best for you. Jesus died and rose again to give you victory. Stand firm, live, serve, and suffer for God’s glory!

1 Peter 3:18, "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit"

Peter is reminding believers that as sojourners…this life is short and heaven is forever. In the midst of persecution and problems…be a city on a hill shining bright for Jesus. One of the brightest lights the church was shining was in their homes. They saw marriage as sacred and kept their commitments. They understood the importance of the family and investing in the next generation. Talk about a...

Peter has been setting the stage and preparing our hearts. It's time to declare war on sin, walk by the Spirit, and shine bright for Jesus. 1 Peter 2:11-12 is known as the intermission. It’s the hinge that swings open the door to life application. That’s the rest of this letter.  Love Jesus, Love people, and Live life to the full…FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE

Peter is painting a picture for us in our passage today. Life is a lot like camping. We make a little temporary home…our home away from home. We are sojourners and exiles just passing through. We have been born again to a living hope, a new life, and a new home. One of the greatest gifts we have is our promise of a new family and a new home in Heaven. 1 Peter was sent to scattered groups of Christians. Peter probably wrote from Rome, at the outbreak of Nero’s persecutions. He had John Mark and Silvanus with him to help write this letter. Christians in other parts of the empire would soon be suffering as they were in Rome. Peter’s message is one of comfort, hope and encouragement to stand firm in the faith and walk in grace. What are you seeking? This is the story of humanity. God set eternity in the heart of man. Success, security, love, romance, money, fame, school, career…all good things…but if they are your sole pursuit…they will leave you empty.  It's all about Jesus! When you come to Jesus…He satisfies and fulfills that void. Now you can honor God in all those other areas. Come and you will see! Jesus is always...
