Deleted Saves

My thoughts on the classic isometric CRPG Baldur's Gate, set in the world of the Forgotten Realms for Dungeons and Dragons. Yes, I'm doing another tabletop-based game. But this one just hits different. Listen to geek lore and nerd out with me on this one, won't you?

Special guest Darren from My Guest List Pod reviews and relives his memories of the fabled Dragonlance Saga Gold Box Set (Champions of Krynn 1990, Death Knights of Krynn 1991, and The Dark Queen of Krynn 1992) in both novel form and on the IBM 386 - and just about every other personal computer it was ported to at the time! A fitting return to the worlds of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons in about as...

My thoughts on the roguelite RPG indie hit Darkest Dungeon on PC. Eldritch and cosmic horror themed, Lovecraft-inspired, and full of grindhouse ghouls, this game will test your nerve and try to crush your spirit under a sea of dead adventurers. And I am here for all of it!

My thoughts on the Lovecraft-inspired game The Sinking City, on the PC. Ridiculous bugs and legal woes have just about sunk this game, in some form of cursed irony, but it is one of the best detective games ever made.

FPS, stealth game and survival horror game all at once, all centered around H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos. It is not so much a scare factory as it is a disaster piece. Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, we need to talk...

My thoughts on the very awkwardly titled Arcanum: of Steamworks and Magick Obscura for PC. A game of elves and dwarves and men, with magic and steampunk revolvers, created by the Fallout 2 developers. As you will see, it is not all sherry and cigars in this Problematic Favorite, with special reference to a home brew D&D campaign of mine.

My thoughts on one of the greatest Westerns told in video games, Red Dead Redemption. Strap on your shootin' irons and get ready to wade into a messy past that says more about us in the modern day in cinematic Rockstar Games fashion.

And here, at the end of the franchise, is where the downfall truly occurs. Dead Space 3, we need to talk...

My thoughts on Dead Space 2, sequel to one of the greatest survival horror titles of the last decade. Isaac is back and louder than ever, gorier than ever, and just more awesome than ever. But, big changes are on the horizon, if EA has anything to say about it...

My thoughts on Dead Space, one of the greatest survival horror titles of the last decade. In space no one can hear you scream, but they sure can hear you stomp alien mutants flat!

My thoughts on Dishonored on Xbox 360. A child of the stealth action genre, this is a magical steampunk adventure of mayhem and murder in the service of a dead sovereign. How many times can I say the name "Corvo" in one sitting? Come find out!

My thoughts on The Lord of the Rings: War in the North on the Xbox 360. A side story to the some of the greatest high fantasy novels ever written, and it's actually good, I promise.

My thoughts on BioShock 2 on the Xbox 360. Under the sea in the Rapture Family, it is Big Daddy, you, and me!

My thoughts on BioShock on the Xbox 360. If you want to learn more about the Gospel of Selfishness, the would you kindly listen to this episode?

My thoughts on Dark Souls on the Xbox 360. Will this review be the "Dark Souls" of video game podcasts? HAHAHA of course not, don't be ridiculous.

My thoughts on Fallout: New Vegas as played on Xbox 360. Another Problematic Favorite, but this time with a twist: what would happen if Bethesda had the original creators of the Fallout franchise work on the game instead? Let's find out!

My thoughts on Fallout 3, as played on Xbox 360. Welcome back to the post-apocalyptic world of "Bethesda magic" and problematic favorite bugs. Get your Pip-Boy and greaser haircuts ready!

My thoughts on Alan Wake, an action-thriller but really survival horror game for Xbox 360. Welcome to another episode where I talk at length about a game that is better than most think, go on at length about creativity and overshare, but it is also a game about nightmares and dreamscapes. And a cat.

This should have been the perfect game for me: comedy, monster killing, art style, great dialogue, and heavy metal. Then I played it. Brutal Legend, we need to talk...

My thoughts on being vengeance! My thoughts on being the night! My thoughts on being Batman in Arkham Asylum! Ummm... it is a very good superhero videogame.

My thoughts on The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Oh man, this is one of my all-time favorites* but is very much a Problematic Favorite. Enjoy this trip into Viking-themed frozen fantasy! *provided the game is modded
