Defending American Exceptionalism
In recent years, the greatness of America - its exceptionalism - has been under attack. This podcast seeks to review our country's history and founding and to use that knowledge to understand what makes the country so special and to discuss current policies that are taking us down a path wrought with risk of destroying it. With the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan, it is also time t...

In the two weeks since the original episode on the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, the news on how this decision was handled just gets worse. Now that we are further into the pandemic and are confronting mutations of the Covid-19 coronavirus, it is time to look at what worked, what didn't, what we still don't know, and what we should consider when allowing the government to dictate our behavior. Cries to follow the science have been shown not to be based on any settled science and life has been dramatically altered in ways that ma...
Afghanistan: Biden's Foreign Policy Debacle 24.08.2021 42:30
Debates can continue whether the war in Afghanistan was a success, a failure, a combination of successes and failures, and what the role of the United States should be in that nation going forward. It cannot be disputed or debated that our service men and women did a remarkable job dismantling al Qaeda and supporting the Afghan people. What cannot be debated is that the Biden Administr...
The Erosion of Property Rights 17.08.2021 28:59
Where private property rights were a critical aspect of freedom and security, as recognized by our Founders, more recent movements attempt to devalue these rights in favor of more collective rights that do nothing to encourage hard work and independence and instead seek to make use more reliant on government and to allow government access to the fruits of our own labor for their own projects for p...
Big Tech: Control and Censorship of Information That Threatens True Freedom 10.08.2021 30:30
The sudden rise of Big Tech companies - Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Amazon and a handful of others - raises questions about how much freedom we have voluntarily given to these monopolistic companies. With more recent actions to censor user content, the question what place these companies truly should have in our society is more important than ever. A consideration of the market share n...
Cuba: It's History, the Continuous State of Communist Revolution, and Cries for Freedom 03.08.2021 35:12
The recent protests of Cuban citizens chanting, “Abajo de la dictadura” (down with the dictatorship), and Libertad (Freedom) have shone a light back on this oppressive country, reminding us of the evils of Communism as they have been imposed there. Where memories of the Cold War have faded - for those who have any such memories at all - it is time to remember just what we are fighting when w...
The Legislative Process Our Founders Intended 27.07.2021 35:14
Given the recent calls to end the filibuster, moves by state legislators to abandon their elected positions to deny a quorum for consideration of legislation, and the imbalance created by imposing term limits on only one of the two political branches of our federal government, it seemed a good time to take at least an introductory look into the legislative process. The genius of our founders...
The American Dream and the Myth that More Education Is Always Better 20.07.2021 32:00
As the 20th century moved forward, it became accepted dogma that every student should complete high school and complete college. Unfortunately, the decrease in the value of much of what is being taught - or not taught - on our campuses of higher education and the increase in the cost has done a disservice to many. While neglecting to allow students to pursue vocational studies that wou...

The Recent Assault on Freedom of Religion in the United States 29.06.2021 33:33
As many of our current policymakers and political activists push for a more socialist society, the protections of the First Amendment to the Constitution related to religious freedom are being curtailed in ways inconsistent with the amendment's language and history. Where new social movements conflict with sincerely held religious beliefs, all too often society is willing to sacrifice rights...
The United States Military: It's Purpose, History and Threats to Its Effectiveness. 22.06.2021 36:13
From before our country's inception, George Washington was put in command of a fighting army. It was known then, as it should be now, that to be effective a military must be trained and disciplined. We are slowly chipping away at proper training and discipline in our armed forces for the sake of diversity - a diversity that serves only to weaken our military and to threaten our nationa...
The Importance of Sovereignty and the Risk to Us All When Sovereignty Is Lost 15.06.2021 32:41
In recent years, a push has come from within our own government voluntarily to give up some of our autonomy in favor of decision making by transnational organizations. These kinds of decisions erode our nation's independence and remove the legitimacy of any standards imposed upon us from outside influences. Those seeking a more global government are moving us further from our own Ameri...

Today's progressive Democrats are pushing an agenda that is in direct contravention of the system and principles the founders instilled in our Constitution. The push for fundamental changes that devalue the individual in favor of some elite-defined community good threatens to take away individual freedoms in a way that cannot continue if the United States is to survive to further its great e...

The Genius of the Founders Form of Federalism 04.05.2021 30:05
Allowing more power to be retained by the states and the people was key to the acceptance of the new system of governance established by the U.S. Constitution. The lie of systemic racism seeks to divide us by race, using fear and anger to allow the greatest political power grab in the country's history. The fact of our history with slavery does not support the conclusion that today the country is anything but free and equal, full of equal opportunity for us all. Media and political focus on police shootings - that are not only statistically r...
