Defeating the Curse (DTC)

It is time to breakdown the #Commanders schedule and get ready for the start of the regular season which is just a few weeks out! The boys are getting back into the "swing" of things covering training camp, the latest Terry contract news and a quick OMC discussion of Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix!

The boys are in the studio for a casual discussion on a plethora of topics. This is the last week without football until February of next year... let that sink in! Oh many what a week in DC! The Commanders got a deal done with DC to redevelop RFK and the renders look amazing! The NFL draft came and went with so many compelling storylines and "villain" arcs being created, and locally the team did a mediocre/great job... depending on whom you ask! The NBA Draft lottery is a week away, the Nationals don't stink, and the CAPS are trying their best to not-screw-t...

There is a trio in the studio discussing the NHL and NBA playoffs after a spirited "holiday" debate. Turns out Joe was so annoyed with WrestleMania he demanded the cast not discuss it, meanwhile Andy and FP defend the Capitals squandering a two goal lead as "business as usual"... BUT still expect them to win and win big in game two and beyond. Finally, OMC breaks down 2010's Sinners and Saints......

The Offseason Movie Club convenes to review 1994's True Lies. Andy has never seen it, Joe highly recommended it... what do you think happened??? Bit of a strange one this week with injuries and illness wrecking the cast and crew of DTC. May not be our best show ever, but the streak lives on! It doesn't happen often but all three DC pro teams might lose as of the taping, Ovi stuck on 892 but really coulda/shoula been 893 as the Caps fall flat over last few games, plus, March Mad/Sadness is almost over... can Cooper Flagg + AJ Johnson catapu...

The boys stay with the mid 1990's action/cult classics as they watch and review The Professional. The movie is the director debut of Luc Besson, the feature film debut of Natalie Portman, and the first top bill for Jean Reno. After reviewing Leon/The Professional the boys sneak in a second movie review; 2018s Den of Thieves. Many many twists ahead! 

The show starts off with a crazy admission from one cast member and his "shower brush"... its wild. And continues with a discussion of ridiculous social media morning routines before pivoting into sports. The #Commanders remain active in free agency adding another WR to a crowded room meanwhile a few states away a divisional rival the #Giants; added not one by two QBs to their roster (29m). March...

The offseason movie club (OMC) continues to be locked in on the mid 1990's and this week the boys watched and reviewed cult classic The Usual Suspects. Shocker, one person loved it, one person didn't, and one person struggled with their ranking. Have a movie suggestion? We are days away from the NCAA tournament and the endless discussion of brackets... yuck. Joe has officially rebranded March Madness into March Sadness because March is the first month of the year with no NFL action. Aaron Rodgers still undecided about where he will play next season holding the league hostage and more directly Russ Wilson. Locally the Wizards are "un-tanking" and the Capitals are...

Well, we are just a week away from the #superbowl nobody cares about and the end of the #NFL season. The boys are ready to switch into NBA and NHL mode while Stevie and Mat are already onto baseball.
