In this episode we look at, the dedicated Church. The Church that is solely absorbed in the Lordship of Jesus Christ, what He has declared and planned and how we adjust our dedication, thinking, disposition and focus to fulfil His Will and please Him.

The Church lives in alien territory, in an ever darkening world believers are to be light and salt. Jesus said the Church I build will reflect Me, because He is the Life of the Church. Even when Christians are harassed and persecuted they can live in the power of the Spirit of God with joy and victory.

Tony talks with a friend of many years, Peter Kraus. Peter has a remarkable story about he and his father, mother and baby brother, how they through a series of amazing events were spared from the gas chambers of the concentration camp of Auschwitz, just before the closing months of WW2.

Acts chapter 8 records one of the most astounding miracles of the gospel. The early Church under pressure and persecution was scattered and thus went into all the world fulfilling the “Great Commission”. Philip going into Samaria preached the Gospel accompanied by signs and wonders, many were saved, and so gentiles came into the church of Christ which was established in Samaria. 

Jesus said to His disciplines in Matthew 28:18, “all authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth …” We are going to consider the Authority of Christ over all things and particularly His authority over the Church.

The Church Jesus founded and brought into being. Jesus called two entities into being and then made them one, Jew and Gentile. Down through the Millennia the Church has always faced opposition, how is the church built up and you as a believer to be able to stand strong in the face of opposition.

It’s the Church that Jesus calls His own and not the Church which we have manufactured or altered. The Church which Jesus builds will be able to withstand the pressures, the strains and the temptations of the last dark days of humanity, the days prior to His returning. In 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8 Paul admonishes fellow believers not to be deceived nor troubled or confused.

In this episode we look at a very interesting comparison between the call of God on Israel and the Church. In Deuteronomy 7:6 the call of Israel is defined, He also has a calling on the Church which is made up of both Jewish and Gentile believers. Having defined the Church and also looked at what defiles the Church so that it is weaken in testimony and effectiveness, in this episode we look at the designated task of the Church. Paul said … we preach Christ and Him crucified. In Ephesians 5:22-29 Paul uses the illustration of the love between a man and his wife to show the relationship between Christ and His Church.

Last episode we saw in the Bible that the Church belongs to Christ, it does not belong to any one denomination nor to any person. Christ is the Head of the Church and we are subject to Him. In the letter to the Ephesians, Paul the Apostle highlights the point that salvation for Jews and Gentiles is found in Christ alone. There is no superiority in being a Jew and no disadvantage to being a Gentile in. Christ. The call to salvation is to “ the who so ever …” Paul re-enforces the together-ness of salvation in Christ.
