Hi there and thanks for tuning in to this newly rebranded podcast, Death by Multimedia, a title I borrowed from the first ever podcast I did with my eldest daughter Jessica. Seeing as though I have split this podcast into three sections over the years – TV and movies, sports and music, and created two other podcasts to handle the weight of the sports and music side of things, I have decided to give this podcast a bit of a spit and polish and rebrand and republish. So, I hope you’ll stick with me as we explore movies, TV shows, streaming platforms, documentaries and even the odd introspective.

Episode 163: In League with the NRL Round 10 MAGIC ROUND! 16.05.2022

Throw the coaching books out the window, forget about sitting down and trying to methodically work out your tips for each weekend, because it looks as though it is all just a complete waste of time. Magic Round didn’t provide a lot of what people might consider Magic, but it did provide some surprise results and matches that will have a far greater consequence on the outcome of the 2022 season tha...

Episode 162: The Casual Mankadder - Is it time for two NSW teams in the Sheffield Shield 12.05.2022

It has been an oft-quoted mantra in Australian cricket for 150 years. “If NSW cricket is strong, then Australian cricket is strong” as well as “NSW players get a baggy green cap when they get their first baggy blue cap, it just saves time later on”. For the past five or six years, NSW has provided the entire Test bowling line up as well as arguably its two best batsmen, and of course they have als...

Episode 161: In League with the NRL Round 9 09.05.2022

So Round 9 wasn’t quite as simple a round to predict, though the upsets came from different angles and have shown up some deficiencies where one would not have expected. The Panthers lost a game, that at least can stop the speculation that a team could go through undefeated in the modern age. The Broncos came to Sydney without arguably their two most important players and still towelled up the Rab...

Episode 160: In League with the NRL Round 8 02.05.2022

It would be fair to say that Round 8 of the NRL contained its fair share of surprise results, either through unexpectedly close games or from upset results that will have turned a number of clubs on their ears. As always, we’ll run the rule over the weekend’s results and ponder whether they are something to worry about as we reach the 33% mark of the regular season. Today’s Talking Point brings us...

Episode 159: The Casual Mankadder - Discussing Australia's Squads for Sri Lanka 01.05.2022

On today’s episode you can listen to me carry on like a pork chop over the plethora of squads that Cricket Australia’s selectin panel has announced for the tour of Sri Lanka coming up in June and July. Four separate teams have been announced, including squads for all three formats of the international game, as well as an A team squad to help give some upcoming contenders a chance to show their war...

Episode 158: 5th and Last! NRL Talking Points April 26, 2022 26.04.2022

On today’s episode you can listen to my dulcet tones as I bring forth five points arising from round 7 of the NRL, and offer up discussion points for you all to consider as a result. Have Penrith and Melbourne already done enough to lock in a Grand Final match up come the first Sunday in October? The Dragons and the Tigers have found a way to win, but will that be enough going forward? The Knights...

Episode 157: In League With the NRL Round 4 04.04.2022

So we’ve reached the end of round four of the NRL season, and things are starting to settle into place. Have there been some surprise packets? Yes there have. Have there been some obvious points as well. My word there has. Would you say the season is over for some teams already? That’s a soft yes at this stage. On today’s program we’ll take a look back at the results for round four and how the tea...

Episode 156: Why Do I Have to Clean the House Before a Party 03.04.2022

As we have begun to come out of weeks and months of covid lockdowns and isolating for days or weeks on end because family has caught the virus, we have all slowly come around to realising that it would be nice to have get togethers. Do you remember them? They were events that you may have organised to celebrate a family member’s milestone, such as a birthday or anniversary, or to invite some frien...

Episode 153: Where to Now for the Socceroos 31.03.2022

Where to now for Australia’s men's football team, the Socceroos. It has been a disastrous few months, winning only one of their last seven qualifying matches, and as a result failed to make automatic qualification for this year’s World Cup. Now they face an uncertain two knockout games against good opposition in order to be in Qatar later in the year. But is it a matter of poor planning and respon...

Episode 152: Should the Follow-On Just be Erased from Cricket 30.03.2022

Is it time to just take the follow on out of cricket? For all of the lack of good it is, certainly at the international level, where it looks as though enforcing the follow on is a thing of the past. Teams rarely use it, wanting to retain the advantage they believe they have in bowling to the opposition last on a day five pitch, no matter what type of lead they have following the completion of the...

Episode 151: Is it time for the NRL to keep matches as 13 on 13 29.03.2022

Has the game of rugby league evolved to the point that the law makers have to start thinking about the integrity of the competition when it comes to sin binning and sending off players during a game? We are only three rounds into the competition, and yet we have seen several matches that it could be said have been unfairly influenced by the fact that a team has been reduced to 12 players for a ten...

Episode 150: Peters & Peters NRL 2022: Round 2 Sunday 19.03.2022

It's the final day of the second round of the NRL for 2022, and there are two tough matches to negotiate within it. So why not leave it to your favourite duo Peters & Peters to get to the nitty gritty of the matches to offer you the reasons why two teams will win and two teams will walk away as complete losers. Today's matches will be between the Knights and the Tigers, and the Bulldogs and th...

It’s Super Saturday… or at least that is what Josh tells me… and so Peters & Peters offer up their thoughts on todays three NRL matches for you to entirely dismiss with a wave of your hand. So wade in and listen to three pretty average previews of today's matches between the Titans and the Warriors, The Sharks and the Eels, and the Cowboys and the Raiders. #PetersAndPeters #NRL2022

Episode 148: Peters & Peters NRL 2022: Round 2 Friday 18.03.2022

Friday night rugby league is here to save the masses once again, and Peters & Peters return to offer their expert(less) opinion and commentary on tonight’s two matches in the NRL, with absolutely no bias against the Roosters. Tonight's games are Dragons vs Panthers and Roosters vs Sea Eagles. #PetersAndPeters #NRL

Episode 147: Peters & Peters NRL 2022: Round 2 Thursday 17.03.2022

It's the start of Round 2 in the NRL, and your local sports duo Peters & Peters have this week been converted to Covid & Covid as the Peters household goes into isolation lockdown. Still, despite the obstacles, they have still found a way to get this afternoon's edition done, despite some social distancing issues and wifi issues that stopped other ways being used. Still, here they are with...

Episode 146: Peters & Peters NRL 2022: Round 1 Sunday 16.03.2022

We've reached the first Sunday of the season, and today you can be very well assured that one Peters has definitely got the right matches to review. Well, hopefully. So to finish off round one why not check out how accurate two guys can be who know nothing about rugby league! Previewing: Eels vs Titans Cowboys vs Bulldogs. #PetersAndPeters #NRL

Episode 144: Peters & Peters NRL 2022: Round 1 Friday 16.03.2022

Peters & Peters are back to offer their underwhelming and thoroughly unresearched opinions on tonight's big matches in the NRL. Come in and check it out! Previewing 11/3/22 Raiders vs Sharks Round 1 Broncos vs Rabbitohs Round 1 #PetersAndPeters #NRL

Episode 143: Peters & Peters NRL 2022: Round 1 Thursday 16.03.2022

Episode 142: In League With the NRL 2022: Round 1 14.03.2022

Round 1 is done and dusted, and if you tip like I do it was a barren and broken wasteland of rugby league. And let’s face face, it is only round one. You can’t win the comp or even lose the comp in the first round, and in many ways you can hardly judge how a team is going to finish the season on their performance in their first true matchup of the season. And there are a lot of clubs who will be l...

Episode 141: In League With the NRL 2022: Season Preview 10.03.2022

Welcome to a brand new season of In League With the NRL. It’s 2022, hopefully we have put covid to bed, and we can have a season where there are as few interruptions as possible. On today’s first episode, I’ll give you my exclusive preview of where all of the teams are going to finish in 2022, which gives you the jump start to get onto your bookie and bet on the exact opposite of what I say. So le...

Episode 140: Where do Smith, Finch and Warner Fit in T20 Landscape 19.02.2022

Australia, somewhat surprisingly to some including me, won last year’s T20 World Cup, an achievement that relied heavily on players who had decided against playing any international T20’s in 2021 prior to the competition going ahead, while continuing to mine the riches of the IPL despite this. In achieving this victory, the team has set itself up for a repeat performance in this year’s T20 World C...

Episode 139: Where to now for Will Pucovski 15.02.2022

When it comes to regular events, we have the rising and the falling of the sun, Shane Warne cutting off fellow commentators at will as well as belittling those players he dislikes and protecting those players he loves, and Will Pucovski finding another way in which to concuss himself which cuts off every comeback he makes the second he has returned to the field. Very few of us would truly understa...
