Governments Should Facilitate Not Control. Contrast the response of the Egyptians to the famine to some governments today who intentionally cause bad circumstances in an effort to control people for their own power play. Freedom requires some reasonable restraints, but is lost if there are unreasonable restraints. When you submit your life to Christ you are set free.

The Egyptians gave everything in exchange for bread from Joseph during the 7 year famine. They gave 100% of their money, business assets and real estate holdings. What are you willing to give to God? Money? Time? Devotion? If you lost everything, like the Egyptians, would you still love God, or would you shake your fist at Him? “You complete me!” Who can name the movie and actor? But have you told Jesus that He completes you or are you still incomplete?

Israel was told Joseph was killed by animals, but now his other sons are telling him that he’s alive. It’s hard to believe people who lie.

Just because you were jealous doesn’t mean you have to be jealous. Besides, God tells us to leave all our goods behind because we can’t take money or accomplishments to Heaven with us.

Have you ever changed your mind about something you were passionate about? Share an example with us? Joseph’s brothers sold him as property but fell in love with Him.

You’re in the ocean without a boat, do you grab the life preserver? In the ocean of life, you can grab a temporary life jacket (money, success, etc) or you can accept the eternal life preserver (Jesus) which has been offered to you. What say you?

Joseph forgives his slave traders and instructs them not be angry with themselves. He doesn’t want revenge or reparations! He just wants to do life with them. What a lesson!

Judah was a changed man! Can people see how changes you are since you’ve accepted Christ, or do you still talk and act like the rest of the world?

He had a dream that his brothers would be down to him, and they hated him for it and sold him into slavery but then finally, they did bow down to him in God’s perfect timing.

Fear is a giant shield that keeps peace away from you! Time to change shields! The shield of faith brings peace and joy!

Today when you feel that moment of fear, also feel the head-slap of Jesus as He wants you to replace that fear with FAITH.

Do you embrace fear or instead ask God to to help you replace it with faith?

Recommend that you do not believe in Karma or even joke about it. It’s false religion.

Have you ever been dishonest or sinned? Can you answer that honestly or do you still think you’re a “good person” simply by comparing yourself to the most evil people as your benchmark?

If you force someone to apologize or love, then are they genuinely apologetic and loving? No!

How could God be seen through a global 7 year famine?

Would you believe a stranger who told you starvation was coming soon?

Why did Pharaoh, a non-believer, believe Joseph the prisoner?

Do you give credit to God, like Joseph did, or do you hog it to yourself? Think of an example.

Which brings more joy…complaining to God about your circumstances OR thanking Him for them? Hard to do, but worth it!

What makes you feel imprisoned, and are you angry at God about it?

Is it a good idea to be alone with someone else’s wife? How about texting her? Joseph rejected this woman’s adulterous offer, yet she had the upper hand!
