Half a tree cut from top to bottom 01.07.2023

Are we half hearted in our faith? See wonderful examples in Hebrews Chapter 11.

COSY 30.06.2023

Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27b). Jesus can truly bring us to a "cosy" place.

A red heart 29.06.2023

Today's is a simple but huge message. Isn't that the same with many deep Truths from God? 1 John 4:16 - 19 tells us that God is Love, that when we really know we are loved by God (and others) we don't fear negative consequences and in that safe place we can extend love out.

Half a horizontal arrow 28.06.2023

Are we whole heartedly following Jesus? Or are we blowing hot and cold? (Revelations 3;15-16). Come into His Kingdom as little children, recognising our need for Him and our vulnerability, being humble enough to be wholly led by Him. (Matthew 18:3). We may think we have got our lives right but remember Love is the most important and vital gift we can offer those around us (1 Corinthians 13:2).

An immersion heater with cladding encompassing it 27.06.2023

We are the temple of living waters, the Holy Spirit (John 7:37-39; 1 Corinthians 3:16). Jesus has His figurative arms around us at all times, throughout all we are contending with. (Psalm 91:4)

A pelican 26.06.2023

To my surprise a pelican is mentioned in the bible a few times. The one that stands out for me today is in Psalm 102:6 when the psalmist, in his distress, likens himself to a pelican. To my surprise, I have also learnt today that the pelican was believed to pierce its own breast with its beak and feed its young of its blood. It became a symbol of Christ sacrificing himself for man. This may seem g...

Many precise laser lights 24.06.2023

The precise laser lights remind me of God's Word being like a 2 edged bringing the precisely Truth often needed in our lives (Hebrews 4:12). The Greek for 2 edged is Distomos - two mouths. God has first spoken His Word into our lives, giving us love and hope, which we can then repeat effectively into our lives by our words spoken in faith.

A large healthy tree providing shade and shelter 23.06.2023

We are to be like the tree mentioned in Psalm 1:1 which is near the water's edge, representing constant dependence on God's Word. We will flourish in God's Kingdom as exemplified by the miniscule mustard seed which can grow into enormous proportions (Matthew 13:31-32).

Blank pages of a spiral-bound notebook and a pen 22.06.2023

Though God has plans for us we sometimes have our part to play in bringing them to fruition. God parted the sea but the fleeing Israelites' part was to walk through by faith. (Exodus 14:21-22)

A vulnerable kitten asleep in its basket 21.06.2023

Jesus looks at us with tender love and wants us to approach Him, trusting Him and allowing ourselves to admit our vulnerability with needs we cannot necessarily meet. (Matthew 18:3 ...become as little children ...)

A bunk bed ladder and misinterpretation when we have different perspectives 20.06.2023

How easy it is to misinterpret and misunderstand God and others. Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my way, declares the Lord".

Rhoda answering the door to Apostle Peter who had just been miraculously saved from prison 19.06.2023

Peter was set free from prison after much prayer had been given up for him but those who prayed did not at first believe Peter had indeed been set free (Acts 12). How often do we not really believe God will answer our prayers?

A beautiful plate with a pile of grapes, pomegranates and figs 17.06.2023

Do we believe God for His promises. He so wants to bless us but often we don't rest on His promises. Before entering the Promised Land, many of the Israelites wept aloud with disbelief, doubt, fear and even outrage saying "Why is the Lord bringing us to this Land?... Joshua ...and Caleb ... said to the entire Israelite assembly, 'The land we passed through and explored is exceedingly good. If the...

An unravelled ball of wool/yarn 16.06.2023

What do we do with the revelations, with the Truths the Holy Spirit gives to us? Are they in a muddle or in effective order? The Holy Spirit brings the Truths to our remembrance (John 14:26)

A dark blank billboard 15.06.2023

There are many people who are in the dark regarding the Gospel, the Good News. Romans 10:14 And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?

A book with curled pages through neglect 14.06.2023

Do we remember to spend time with The Word? This is Jesus (John 1:1, 14). Psalm 119:105 - Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path".

Kitchen Scales 13.06.2023

Just like we measure and prepare a meal for those we love, so does God prepare in advance for our needs ahead.

A renovated, previously shabby and disused piano 12.06.2023

If we so desire, Jesus will restore and refresh us (Lamentations 3:22-23)

A horse eating from a red bucket 10.06.2023

A horse represents strength. However strong we are Jesus tells us that we need to eat His body and drink His blood (John 6:53-54). I discuss this very difficult doctrine.

A man with a walking stick 09.06.2023

Yes, it may seem like a weak place when we recognise that Jesus is our crutch. Actually, it is a wonderful place to be when we recognise our need of Him. He provides for us far more wonderfully and abundantly than we can independently for ourselves

Jesus' arms outstretched towards everyone with His heart being at the intersection 08.06.2023

May our connections with everyone have Jesus at the heart of them. (John 3:16)

A nail being hammered in straight and true 07.06.2023

"The words of the wise are like prodding goads, and these collected sayings are firmly fixed in the mind like well-driven nails; they are given by one Shepherd" (Ecclesiastes 12:11). Jesus is our one true shepherd (John 10:11). We require our spirit to be opened to the wisdom of God which is different from the wisdom of this world.

A teddy bear 06.06.2023

A sweet teddy bear does not depict any bear in reality in this world. Similarly we may find sweetness and comfort in things that actually are just a shadow and an inadequate representation of the reality of an awesome God. God wants us to understand Him and His kindness, justice and righteous which are qualities He delights in (Jeremiah 9:23-24), to know that we are "members of His household&...

A tree swaying in the wind 05.06.2023

As with the wind which we cannot see but can witness its effect, similarly we cannot see God but we can bear witness to Him. (John 3:8 "The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” ) God desires us to have a relationship with Him, getting to know Him, despite us not being able...

Thunder and Lightning 03.06.2023

We know there is a storm when we hear thunder and see lightning but we don't necessarily know what causes thunder and lightning. Similarly. we can see a touching picture and recognise the compassion of the artist but we don't necessarily know anything else about the artist. Aren't we like that with God? We might recognise His handiwork but do we spend time with Him getting to know Him?...
