I am sure we are all aware that we do not always represent God in our dealings with others. Similarly, others' treatment of us often does not represent God. A hovering helicopter has not yet landed. Are we the same in our relationship with God? Are we hovering rather than settling and seeking Him? The Word promises us that if "we ask it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" (Matthew 7:7)

Are we coveting what others have or are we grateful for what we have today, which is very likely more than enough? Often we think of God's Will as connected to decision making going forward but it is also to do with right now. And what is His Will right now? There are two verses that help in directing us. The Old Testament prophet Micah tells us in Chapter 6:8 "to act justly, to love mercy and to walk humbly with God". In Psalm 42 King David gives himself a good talking to, when things are difficult for him and he feels downcast, reminding himself that God is always with Him, has always helped Him and to reach out to Him. "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, the living God" (Psalm 42:1-2b).

Metaphorically speaking, God sometimes puts us through a refiner's fire in order to change us into His image. He is with us during the process. This is far more preferable to an erratic uncontrollable fiery situation in which God's Will is not respected and adhered to. "And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times". (Psalm 12:6)

Sometimes we need some tough love from those who want us to have fruitful lives and can see what changes we should/can make. Are we willing to receive it though? "As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17)

Jesus died on the cross for everyone everywhere over all time. "I am a God who is everywhere and not in one place only. No one can hide where I cannot see them. Do you not know that I am everywhere in heaven and on earth?". (Jeremiah 23:23-24). Think of those verses in the context of Him wanting to extend love notes to us wherever we are.
