Point of Grace Church

Daily Pause

Pause is the learned art of stopping to immerse in the presence of God and untangle from the demands of life. Pause frees our souls to breathe the fresh air of God's grace, even if just for a minute - this is active restoration. Welcome to the Daily Pause. The Daily Pause is a 10 minute daily devotional tool freshly designed each day by Point of Grace church near Austin Texas to help us intentionally pause and breathe - immerse and untangle. The goal is that Monday - Friday we would take time to actively participate in this foundational restoration practice.

June 14th, 2022 - Ephesians 2:13-22 14.06.2022

13  But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.   17  He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.  18  For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit. 19  Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fello...

13  Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John.  14  But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to bebaptized by you, and do you come to me?” 15  Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. 16  As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that momen...

June 10th, 2022 - Acts 2:42-47 10.06.2022

42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple court...

June 9th, 2022 - Acts 2:37-41 09.06.2022

37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our...

June 8th, 2022 - Acts 2:29-36 08.06.2022

29 “Fellow Israelites, I can tell you confidently that the patriarch David died and was buried, and his tomb is here to this day. 30 But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne. 31 Seeing what was to come, he spoke of the resurrection of the Messiah, that he was not abandoned to the realm of the dead, nor did his body see...

June 7th, 2022 - Acts 2:14-24 07.06.2022

14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say. 15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel: 17 “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. You...

June 6th, 2022 - Acts 2:1-13 06.06.2022

When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them....

June 3rd, 2022 - Romans 8:31-39 03.06.2022

31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34 Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than tha...

June 2nd, 2022 - Hebrews 4:12-16 02.06.2022

12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has...

June 1st, 2022 - Philippians 2:9-16 01.06.2022

9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. 12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—co...

May 31st, 2022 - Philippians 2:5-11 31.05.2022

5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature[ a ] God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; 7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature[ b ] of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— ev...

May 30th, 2022 - Ephesians 1:18-23 30.05.2022

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far abov...

May 27th, 2022 - 1 Peter 3:8-18 27.05.2022

8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not...

May 26th, 2022 - Acts 4:23-31 26.05.2022

23 On their release, Peter and John went back to their own people and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them. 24 When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God. “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them. 25 You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father Davi...

May 25th, 2022 - Acts 4:5-13 25.05.2022

5 The next day the rulers, the elders and the teachers of the law met in Jerusalem. 6 Annas the high priest was there, and so were Caiaphas, John, Alexander and others of the high priest’s family. 7 They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them: “By what power or what name did you do this?” 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the...

May 24th, 2022 - Luke 11:9-13 24.05.2022

9 “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for[ f ] a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though...

May 23rd, 2022 - Acts 1:1-8 23.05.2022

In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. 4 On...

May 20th, 2022 - Mark 13:5-11 20.05.2022

5 Jesus said to them: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 6 Many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am he,’ and will deceive many. 7 When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 8 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of b...

May 19th, 2022 - Acts 26:12-20 19.05.2022

When giving testimony before the King the Apostle Paul said, 12 “On one of these journeys I was going to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests. 13 About noon, King Agrippa, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions. 14 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,[ a ] ‘Saul, Saul,...

May 18th, 2022 - Matthew 5:13-16 18.05.2022

13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. 14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house...

May 17th, 2022 - Isaiah 6:1-8 17.05.2022

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. 2 Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his g...

May 16th, 2022 - Matthew 28:16-20 16.05.2022

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching t...

May 13th, 2022 - Deuteronomy 6:4-9 13.05.2022

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[ a ] 5 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hand...

May 12th, 2022 - John 14:18-26 12.05.2022

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I am coming to you. 19 In a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live too. 20 On that day you will know that I am in my Father, you are in me, and I am in you. 21 The one who has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. And the one who loves me will be loved by my Father. I also will love him and...

May 11th, 2022 - Luke 5:1-11 11.05.2022

One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. 2 He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. 3 He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. 4 When he had f...
