Point of Grace Church

Daily Pause

Pause is the learned art of stopping to immerse in the presence of God and untangle from the demands of life. Pause frees our souls to breathe the fresh air of God's grace, even if just for a minute - this is active restoration. Welcome to the Daily Pause. The Daily Pause is a 10 minute daily devotional tool freshly designed each day by Point of Grace church near Austin Texas to help us intentionally pause and breathe - immerse and untangle. The goal is that Monday - Friday we would take time to actively participate in this foundational restoration practice.

July 5, 2024 - Psalm 8 Selected Verses 05.07.2024

Psalm 8 - Selected Verses O Lord, our Lord,  how majestic is your name in all the earth!   You have set your glory above the heavens. 3  When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,     the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4  what is man that you are mindful of him,     and the son of man that you care for him? 5  Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly bei...

July 4, 2024 - Hebrews 11:1-3 04.07.2024

Hebrews 11:1-3   Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.  2  For by it the people of old received their commendation.  3  By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

July 3, 2024 - Genesis 1:26-31 03.07.2024

Genesis 1:26-31 26  Then God said, “Let us make man[ h ] in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27  So God created man in his own image,  in the image of God he created him;  male and female he created them. 28  And...

July 2, 2024 - John 1:1-5 02.07.2024

John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  2  He was in the beginning with God.  3  All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.  4  In him was life,[ a ] and the life was the light of men.  5  The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

July 1, 2024 - Genesis 1:1-5 01.07.2024

And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.  3  And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.  4  And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.  5  God called the light Day, a...

June 27, 2024 - 2 Corinthians 6:16 27.06.2024

2 Corinthians 6:16 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them     and walk among them, and I will be their God,     and they will be my people.”

June 25, 2024 - John 2:13-17 25.06.2024

John 2:13-17 13  When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem.  14  In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money.  15  So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.  16  To thos...

June 21, 2024 - 1 Peter 3:13-15 21.06.2024

13 Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14 But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear their threats[ b ]; do not be frightened.”[ c ] 15 But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.  2  A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.  3  He wanted to see who Jesus was, but because he was short he could not see over the crowd.  4  So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. 5  When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchae...

June 19, 2024 - John 7:37-39 19.06.2024

37  On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink.  38  Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”[ c ]  39  By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not...

“Come, all you who are thirsty,  come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. 2 Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. 3 Give ear and come to me; listen, that you may live. I will make an everla...

Philippians 2:12-16 12 Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, 13  for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. 14 Do everything without grumbling or arguing, 15 so that you may become blameless and pure, “children of God wit...

June 13, 2024 - 1 Corinthians 12:12-14,21-27 13.06.2024

1 Corinthians 12:12-14,21-27      12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. 13 For we were all baptized by[ c ] one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 14 Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many. 21 The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’...

1 Corinthians 12:1,4-11     Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.  4 There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. 5 There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6 There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. 7 Now to each one the manifestation of t...

Galatian 5:22-25    19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,...

June 10, 2024 - 2 Corinthians 3:16-19 10.06.2024

2 Corinthians 3:16-19 16 But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17 For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Galatians 5:13-18 13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh[ a ]; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”[ b ] 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. 16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and...
