Point of Grace Church

Daily Pause

Pause is the learned art of stopping to immerse in the presence of God and untangle from the demands of life. Pause frees our souls to breathe the fresh air of God's grace, even if just for a minute - this is active restoration. Welcome to the Daily Pause. The Daily Pause is a 10 minute daily devotional tool freshly designed each day by Point of Grace church near Austin Texas to help us intentionally pause and breathe - immerse and untangle. The goal is that Monday - Friday we would take time to actively participate in this foundational restoration practice.

May 29, 2026 - James 2:1-7 29.05.2026

James 2:1-7 My dear friends, don’t let public opinion influence how you live out our glorious, Christ-originated faith. If a man enters your church wearing an expensive suit, and a street person wearing rags comes in right after him, and you say to the man in the suit, “Sit here, sir; this is the best seat in the house!” and either ignore the street person or say, “Better sit here in the back row,...

They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.  10  And they cried out in a loud voice: “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.” 11  A...

May 22, 2026 - Hebrews 4:14-16 22.05.2026

Hebrews 4:14-16 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that...

Then Pe...

Luke 10:25-37 29 But he (the expert in the law who stood up to test Jesus) wanted to justify himself, so he asked Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” 30 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. 31 A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he s...

Will he say to the servant when he comes in from the field, ‘Come along now and sit down to eat’? 8 Won’...

Matthw 6:1,5-6 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. …. 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is...

Matthew 6:1-4 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. 2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 3 But when you give to the...

May 8, 2026 - 1 Corinthians 13:1-8 08.05.2026

1 Corinthians 13:1-8 If I speak in the tongues[ a ] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.  2  If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.  3  If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boas...

1 John 4:18-21 16  And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.   God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.  17  This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.  18  There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears i...

1 John 3      selected verses See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  11  For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.   16  This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to la...
