In the third part of Ecclesiastes chapter 1 (verses 15 - 18) Solomon thought he had acquired great wisdom, but realized it was all meaningless and futile. Today we are going to start with Psalm 93 and reflect on the majesty of God, the stability of His throne, and what we can learn from the power of the oceans. Com with us as we find comfort and celebration in His sovereignty.

What does the pointlessness of life lived on a hamster wheel and confession have to do with each other? Great questions. We are going to excavate that very idea this afternoon from Eccleseastes 1:12-14. And, as a bonus, we will talk about the joy of true confession.

God the Creator shows us both His beauty and His greatness. In Psalm 92 we get to reflect on His works and deep thoughts. As we do we find comfort and confidence in God's steadfast love and faithfulness, realizing that even in the face of evil, God's righteousness and salvation endure forever.

As we start of journey through Solomon's wisdom through the book of Eccleseastes we are going to first be confronted with the challenging thought that this life is an empty rat race. The question that we will find ourselves asking over and over is, If the Preacher is right about this, why should we continue in this life at all?
