Paul was dealing with a group of false teachers in Colosse saying Christ wasn’t enough for salvation. Gentiles coming into the church had to first become Jewish! Paul is concerned about this young church and has already encouraged them. Now he gets to the heart of the matter: Christ is absolutely sufficient for our salvation. He encourages them to live in Christ rather than play with shadows. 

SENT For – Luke 10:1-12 Jesus, while on earth, represented God in the flesh. But since he was eventually going to ascend into heaven, he now calls and trains his disciples to do that.  So what is this kingdom we represent and proclaim as imager-bearers of the King?  We’ll look at the kingdom as God’s rule, his power, and his people, and our role in proclaiming it to our community. 

SENT By – Luke 10:1-12 What does it mean for us to be SENT by Jesus into the harvest field?  Perhaps, given the poor reputation of Christian evangelism in our country, we might even ask the question WHY? Not only have we often done a poor job of it, but we don’t sense that the world is very receptive to our witness.  Why bother? The answer to that is who we are SENT by.
