Crossroads - Weekend Messages

I am the Bread of Life. I am the Light of the World. I am the Door of the Sheepfold. In this series Jesus is blowing our minds with how He describes Himself. This time, we will be meeting Jesus again for the very first time as The Good Shepherd. The phrase is common, but it has some life-changing implications for us.

Jesus wants everyone to know who He is and what He's all about. He says what He means, and means what He says. That's why the “I AM” series from John's Gospel is so important. This week Jesus declares, “I am the door.” What does that mean? We will unpack this powerful reality and learn how we can respond to what Jesus is revealing to us.

This chapter in the book of Numbers deals with two things: lamps and Levites. God cares very much that everything is in its proper place. This includes both the furniture for the Tabernacle and His designated servants.

We all want to meet Jesus again for the very first time, to know Him afresh as who He really is. That's what the I AM series is all about. In this message we see Jesus declare, “I am the light of the world” after the religious leaders try to set him up so they can discredit him. What happens next is completely unexpected, yet amazingly comforting to us and our future.

This chapter records the identical gifts of the tribes of Israel for the Tabernacle. The focus of this section of the book of Numbers moves us from the campsite to the dedication of the Tabernacle. God’s people love being involved with the work that God is doing.

As the family of God, we have infinite reasons to praise God, and that's what this "Songs of Summer" message is all about. Who is God and what has He done for us? The answer leads us to praise Him. This message not only explores why God deserves praise, but helps us to live it out as we respond to what God is showing us.

There is a type of song where the lyrics are not sung but spoken. For this reason, it is called “spoken word.” There is often music playing behind the spoken lyrics. It is in the light of this that we look at Jesus’ prayer in John 17:20-26. As Jesus winds down His “High Priestly” Prayer, after praying for Himself and His disciples, Jesus begins to pray for us. This chapter is all about God’s blessings. First we will look at the Nazarite vow. This special vow was a way that a person would ​set himself apart for the Lord alone. Then we will see the High Priestly Blessing. This is the benediction with which Pastor Daniel closes our Crossroads services.

Relationships can either build us up, or tear us down. When your relationships have strong, positive interactions, they'll last a lifetime and build you up. But if they're negative, the future is bleak. Did God create us for positive relationships? Learn from the song we know as Psalm 133. You don't want to miss what God has to say about the power of relationship.

The ordering, numbering and structuring of the camp is now completed. But God still wants the people to be reminded that the camp must be holy. God wants the people well organized and set apart for him. Numbers 5 reminds us of God’s desire for holiness.

Some songs are happy, and some are sad. Psalm 32 is one of those songs that is both happy and sad. Songs of “lament” in the Bible explore the grief and struggle that are inevitable parts of everyone's life. How does God's hope sustain us in times of sorrow and struggle? Pastor Daniel walks us through this sad yet hopeful psalm written by King David. Life is messy, but Jesus is oh so real.

Numbers 4 involves the second census of the Levites. In the previous chapter the census was about the actual number of Levites who could potentially serve. This chapter focuses on those who will be doing the work of ministry at present. It is amazing to see how specific the Lord is in organizing the people.

The Bible records what might be the first complete love song in history, known as either the Song of Songs or the Song of Solomon. But this is not a song about love lost. Instead it is a song about love found and rejoiced in. Please note that this message contains mature subject matter.

Numbers 3 finally deals with the Levites. Being left out of the numberings of Chapters 1-2, the Levites are now center stage. They are numbered, and the work is divided for this special tribe.

Whether it's a story, a love letter, or a lament, every song expresses feelings and experiences from a unique vantage point. Revelation 4 and 5 contain five short songs from the amazing vantage point of Heaven. As the Songs of Summer series continues, Pastor Daniel examines the power and promise found in the songs of Revelation 4 and 5.

After numbering the children of Israel by tribe in Numbers 1, we now move to how the tribes were meant to camp. This chapter continues with God’s orderliness in arranging His people. The tabernacle sits at the center of the camp, continually reminding the people that God must be the center of their life and community.

As we begin our verse-by-verse series called "Camp" in the beginning of the Book of Numbers, we run right into the first census of the children of Israel. It might seem strange that God asked Moses to number the people. But in reality, God has a plan and God knows that each number is a person who God wants to use uniquely.

The Song of the Shepherd is on the all-time list of “Greatest Hits” of Biblical songs, and might be at the top of the list. It's so familiar and beautiful, and popular for a good reason: it sings of love, hope and blessing. Be ready to be surprised by some of what you find in the lyrics in David the shepherd's song!

Crossroads enjoyed a rare opportunity to hear Luis Palau share God's word with us this Sunday. He spoke on the Song of Who God Is from Psalm 103. Luis and his ministry have shared the Gospel with more than 1 billion people in 75 countries leading more than a million to Christ.

Life has a tendency to drag our soul through the dust of the earth. It is at this time, we must raise our voice to call upon the Lord, Maker of all. Pastor Robert Furrow shares a message entitled "A Song for the Soul" from Psalm 86 packed with practical Biblical truths to encourage the downtrodden and strengthen the weary soul.

Each and everyone of us are looking for acceptance, support and association with others and/or a cause. Jesus speaks of this unity in the gospel of John as he prays, "Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me." We will look at the perfect picture of what it means to be united.

We start a brand-new summer series called "Songs of Summer". Because Jesus is real and God lives within the praises of His people, the Bible is full of songs. Every Sunday this summer we will take a Biblical song and unpack what God teaches us through that song. To kick off this series, Pastor Daniel will share "A Song for Dad" from Psalm 127.

With this study we will be bringing our journey through Leviticus to a close. Leviticus ends with a look at the redemption price of people and property among the children of Israel. A theme that emerges is the fact that there is a cost to buy back people. This reality points us to the finished work of Jesus in a profound way.

We have now reached the conclusion of our series on 1 Corinthians 13 called “The Greatest.” The Apostle Paul reminds us that we are to abide in faith, hope and love. We are to find our home in Christ and stay there. There is to be no straying or wandering. Instead we are to be settled in the everlasting arms of Jesus.
