“In the Beginning, Mysteries, Wickedness, and then Noah,” Genesis 6:1-9 29.06.2021

In Genesis 6:1-9, we see some new mysteries: Sons of God, Nephilim, God’s designating of 120 years . . .. We also see the vast wickedness of mankind. Then, we see Noah, a righteous, blameless man who walked with God. But for all the righteousness of Noah, we have more: we have the righteousness of Christ.

“In the Beginning, Gleanings from Genealogies,” 4:17-5:32 23.06.2021

In this passage we see two things: 1) the spread of sin through Cain’s line and 2) the sustaining of a Godly line through Seth. Praise God for his mercy: from the line of Seth, we get Christ.

“In the Beginning, Cain and Abel,” Genesis 4:1-16 18.06.2021

Many of us are familiar with the historical story of Cain and Abel, but in this sermon we stop to consider the the divide between Cain and Abel’s offerings. Why was one acceptable and the other not? And May we not overlook goodness and mercy of God as he warned and corrected Cain.

“In the Beginning, The Fall,” Genesis 3:1-24 14.06.2021

We continue our journey through Genesis and see in scripture “The Fall” of Adam and Eve. We hear, too, the first promise of the coming Messiah.

“In the Beginning, God & Marriage,” Genesis 2:18-25 04.06.2021

God created all things and called it all “good.” Marriage was created by God, and scripture points us to the realization that God’s intent for marriage is that it has a grander reality than what most of us believe. Marriage in this life is a picture of the Eternal Marriage of Christ and His Bride (the Church).

“In the Beginning, God and Man and Goodness,” Genesis 2:4-18 24.05.2021

It’s often hard for us to imagine not only how good all of God’s creation was, but also to wrap our minds around how constantly and consistently good God was to Adam before Adam and Eve rebelled. From the beginning every intent of God toward Man was good, and we see that in Genesis 2. The heartache, brokenness and sorrow we have today is the result of sin and was NOT part of God’s original design...

“In the Beginning, God and God Alone,” Genesis 1:1-2:3 16.05.2021

We begin our new book series in Genesis. There is a richness of doctrine in Genesis that shapes the rest of the Bible, and we find the roots of the Gospel in Genesis as well. But we begin today with observing the beginning of all creation and seeing that God Alone is sovereign over all creation.

“Faith and a Few Other Things,” James 5:12-20 16.05.2021

In this sermon, we see that scripture tells us about Promises, Prayer, and Guarding One Another’s Wandering.

“Faith and Patience,” James 5:7-11 16.05.2021

Genuine faith in Christ calls us to endure and have patience. We patiently endure, not because of our mere determination, but because we know the promises of God are true.

“Faith and the Caution of Riches,” James 5:1-6 26.04.2021

We continue on through the book of James and consider the condemnation that James gives “the rich” of his day. To be clear, wealth is not evil, yet James is condemning this particular group of rich people—why? What was wrong with their riches? What caution and comfort can Christians glean from this text?

“Faith & Humble Submission to God’s Sovereignty,” James 4:13-17 21.04.2021

Join us as we continue through the book of James and consider James’s reminder that are lives are to be lived in light of God’s sovereignty.

“Faith & Humility,” James 4:1-12 17.04.2021

Join us as we continue through the book of James and see how God’s Word challenges us with the practicality of genuine faith.

“Faith & Wisdom,” James 3:13-18 06.04.2021

What does godly wisdom actually look like, according to scripture and not man? Many profess to want wisdom and profess to have faith—and James challenges us to consider our faith and the fruit we exhibit.

“Faith & the Tongue,” James 3:1-12 31.03.2021

As Christians, how and what we speak matters. Scripture is very clear that our tongue reveals our heart. Listen as elder Andy Deboer preaches James 3:1-12.

“Faith & Works,” James 2:14-26 24.03.2021

We continue moving through the God-breathed book of James, as this week we consider the essential role of good works and authentic faith. Genuine faith will produce good works, but good works will not produce genuine faith. We were saved by God to do good works, NOT because of our good works.

“Faith & Partiality,” James 2:1-13 16.03.2021

Listen this week as Pastor Ricky preaches through James 2:1-13. We see that favoritism is a sin and cannot be practiced by those who genuinely hold to faith in Christ.

“Faith & Hearing, Pt. 2,” James 1:22-27 09.03.2021

This week we look at the authenticity of our faith as it relates to our speech, service, and separation from the sin of world.

“Faith & Hearing, Pt. 1,” James 1:19-25 03.03.2021

We continue on through James and are challenged by the scriptural truths that we should 1) “Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger, and 2) Of we only HEAR the Word and do not live it out, we deceive ourselves.

“Jonah’s Selfishness & the Lord’s Compassion,” Jonah 4 15.02.2021

We conclude our sermon series in Jonah and see the Lord is compassionate even when we are selfish. There is much of Jonah in each of us, but there is so much more of the Lord’s compassion, love, and mercy toward us.

“Where There is Repentance,” Jonah 3 14.02.2021

Join us in Jonah 3, where we see the effects of Repentance in the life of Jonah and the Ninevites.

“Discipline, Repentance, Deliverance,” Jonah 2:1-10 29.01.2021

We had some trouble with our audio recording this week and had to revert back to this method this week. Thank you for listening! May God be glorified in what we preach.

“Whale of a Tale,” Jonah 1:1-17 23.01.2021

Andy DeBoer, an elder at CrossLife Fort Smith, kicks off our new sermon series in Jonah. Thank you for listening!

“The Incarnate One: The Humble Servant,” Philippians 2:1-10 28.12.2020
“The Incarnate One #1: Our Great High Priest,” Hebrews 2:14-18 14.12.2020

This week, we begin a short series from various passages that focus on the incarnation of Christ.

“Biblical Devotion to Good Works,” Titus 3:12-15 13.12.2020

Listen as we conclude our sermon series through Titus and understand the Biblical charge to “Do Good Works” as a result of the Gospel. CrossLife exists to be a Biblically-functioning church that seeks to multiply as a Gospel-centered, Christ-exalting, Disciple-making community.
