Weekly Dharma talks, Zazenkai and Sesshin talks. We are part of the Phoenix Cloud lineage whose founder was Kobun Chino Roshi (1938-2002). Kobun came to San Francisco from Japan in 1967 at the request of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi to serve as his attendant at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center. Sensei Dean Williams is the guiding teacher of the Crooked River Zen Center in Cleveland, Ohio. His interest in Zen Buddhism began in the early 70s when he was working on his BA in philosophy. Joshu asked: "You have not even finished your rice porridge." The monk replied: "I have eaten enough." Joshu said: "Then you'd better wash your bowl." At that moment the monk was enlightened.
