Creativity Wasted
Creativity Wasted is a podcast where a group of creative people get together, and we each share an idea that we're not planning on pursuing in real life, such as an invention idea that's outside our area of expertise, a futuristic sci-fi movie idea, or an evil prank idea. And rather than just letting the idea quietly slip away, we get some fun out of it by joking about it together.

Modular Airplanes and Airplane Boarding Speedup Ideas (Tom Walma) 17.02.2020 9:36
Ideas to speed up airplane boarding, including: * Robots to lift bags straight up/down into the overhead bins of an airplane, so people don't stand in the aisle and block the line of other people who are boarding while they try to shove their bags into the overhead bins * A modular airplane, where the top half (cockpit and cabin) can be removed, and i) replace the waiting area of the airport to el...
Black Niche Dating Sites (Mike Geeter) 17.02.2020 8:50
Idea: Niche dating sites for African-Americans, such as black farmers only, black lumberjacks aka "lumberblacks", and black bears. But not "black furries", because that's "white people sh**". Also, odd niche dating sites which already exist, such as a dating site for sea captains Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 83 Naz Neen Mike Geeter ( twitter.com/OhMikeGeeter , Kevin Hart's "Hart in th...
British X-Rated Game Shows in US (Naz Neen) 17.02.2020 24:59
Idea: American versions of adult-themed British game shows, including i) "Spring Break with Grandad", where college kids and their granddads compete as a team in party and beach-themed events, ii) "Naked Attraction", where people compete for dates by showing off their naked body in three rounds: genitals, midsection, and face, and iii) "Sex Box", where strangers are instructed to perform a specifi...
Moral Selection (Tom Walma) 17.02.2020 16:35
Idea: Environmental activism/engineering, where instead of trying to return nature to an arbitrary past before humans arrived, we use genetic engineering, technology, etc. to engineer the environment and the DNA of animals to make them experience more pleasure and less fear and suffering ("moral selection" as opposed to "natural selection" aka Darwinism). It's a way for humans to become "the best...
Weezer Cover Song App (Greg Sharp) 17.02.2020 9:48
Idea: An app which generates a computer-generated cover of any song which sounds like it was performed by the band Weezer. Because flooding the world with Weezer covers would make the whole world happy and possibly even lead to world peace, like a real-life version of the future from the movie "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure" Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 82 Brent Von Kalamazoo (...
Global Warming Apocalypse Party (Brent Von Kalamazoo) 17.02.2020 12:30
Idea: Set a deadline to fix global warming emissions, and if we fail to meet the deadline, "calling it quits for civilization", and conducting a worldwide party for a couple years, or until the food runs out. That way, everybody gets a couple years of the highest quality living, instead of slow miserable decline towards a Mad Max hell Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 82 Brent Von Kalamazo...
Late-Night History (Tom Walma) 17.02.2020 8:44
Idea: A TV show where people learn about history by watching jokes, primarily obtained from late-night talk show monologues from the relevant time period. Each half-hour episode would be a series of jokes, all about the same historical event, such as the Iran-Contra scandal. Blurbs and graphics would display pieces of information required to understand the event and "get" the jokes, even if you kn...
Glasses That Make Cats Look Like Dogs (Diego Attanasio) 17.02.2020 8:11
Idea: "Augmented reality" glasses that make dogs look like cats, or vice versa. Also maybe headphones, so the person who sees the cat as a dog can say a dog's name, and other people (and the cat) hear them say the cat's name. This technology would also allow everyone to live a lie, causing other people to see and hear them in a way that isn't real Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 81 Gerri...
Last Addict Standing Competition TV Show (David Sutherland) 17.02.2020 9:12
Idea: A competition-based reality show, like Survivor, where each team member is addicted to a different recreational drug. The teams compete in both physical and mental events, and the drug addition may help or hinder their performance in the event, possibly in hilarious ways. The members of the winning team are rewarded either with a large supply of their drug, or rehab (their choice) Originally...
Self-Doubt Removal Pill (Gerrit Elzinga) 17.02.2020 11:21
Idea: A pill to remove self-doubt and shame, but without causing you to lose self-awareness and/or becoming arrogant (like alcohol). Because good people feel self-doubt and shame when they shouldn't, and bad people already don't feel shame Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 81 Gerrit Elzinga (twitter.com/GerritElzinga Podcast: facebook.com/thisbetterbegoodpodcast) David Sutherland (twitter....
Life Guide App (Bryan Deuchler) 17.02.2020 2:31
Idea: An app that monitors what you're doing all day and uses artificial intelligence to give you advice, kind of like "an angel on your shoulder that also keeps you from being stupid". It can also go back into it's recorded history of your life, and show you a sequence of decisions that led to a bad outcome, to help you learn from your mistakes Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 80 Nick Ea...
Can I Get A Witness App (Amanda Brewington) 17.02.2020 3:57
Idea: A social media app/feature which requires other people to be "witnesses" of a post (i.e. confirm that they were there and saw what happened), so it's harder to lie about yourself on social media. Also, other people can post (possibly bad) things about you, along with corroborating witnesses, which will hopefully pressure people to not be jerks Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 80 Nic...
Bro Ties - Hair Ties for Men (Nick Earl) 17.02.2020 3:59
Idea: Hair ties marketed to men who have long hair and are too macho or "bro"-like to buy hair ties marketed primarily to women Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 80 Nick Earl (twitter.com/fakenickearl) Amanda Brewington (facebook.com/amanda.brewington) Bryan Deuchler (twitter.com/MrDrRobot Podcast: https://cartoontonic.buzzsprout.com) Tom Walma (twitter.com/thomaswalma) Recorded at Podcast...
Stay-At-Home Vacation Ideas (Tom Walma) 17.02.2020 25:36
Rules for defining a "vacation", how travel isn't required for a vacation because (unlike migrating birds) location isn't one of our five senses, five ideas for new types of stay-at-home vacations (ranging from realistic to wildly futuristic) Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 80 Nick Earl (twitter.com/fakenickearl) Amanda Brewington (facebook.com/amanda.brewington) Bryan Deuchler (twitter....
Poop Roomba (Teena Green) 17.02.2020 16:13
Idea: A robotic, Roomba-like device to clean up dog poop in your yard, so you don't have to pick it up. We also discuss women using poop in acts of revenge, "code brown", simulated pregnancy in adult robots, and shooting dog poop into tiny pieces with high-powered water jets built into sprinkler systems Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 79 Chris Miller (twitter.com/ImChrisMiller) Tom Swan...
Sober Pill (Tom Swan) 17.02.2020 9:50
Idea: A pill to instantly (or within a few minutes) absorb the alcohol in a drunk person's body and make them sober, so they can drive home (or go back into the bar for round 2), and won't have a hangover the next morning Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 79 Chris Miller (twitter.com/ImChrisMiller) Tom Swan (twitter.com/GreatLksComedy https://greatlakescomedy.com) Teena Green Tom Walma (tw...
Red Light Districts (Chris Miller) 17.02.2020 11:04
Idea: Government bills to create "red light districts" in major US cities, where drugs and prostitution would be legal, to lure the seedy people into one area, so the rest of the city can be family-friendly and safe. Possibly even put the "red light district" indoors in abandoned factories or shopping malls, so people can't accidentally wander into them, and they can't be spied on using drones Ori...
Christian Apocalypse Cartoon (Connor Meade) 13.02.2020 9:00
Idea: An "Adult Swim"-like cartoon about life after the Christian apocalypse, including biblical characters like God and demons, and also humorous discussions about STDs in bomb shelters Connor Meade (twitter.com/connormeadian ComedyShow: https://planetant.com/theindy) Sarah Wooley (facebook.com/sarah.s.wooley.7) Justin Siekierka (facebook.com/justin.siekierka ComedyShow: facebook.com/Liberty-Stre...
New Low-Carb Eating Utensils (Tom Walma) 11.02.2020 10:28
Idea: New eating utensils for low carb meals, because Tom thinks that low-carb bowls (like burrito bowls) and salads take too long to chew. He has 3 ideas of new utensils: burger scoop, half-lemon on a stick, and doughless pizza pan/plate with pizza wiper Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 77 Alan Black (twitter.com/alanblah) Jenson Strock (twitter.com/J_Strock) Tom Walma (twitter.com/thoma...
Retired Housewives of Lucas County (Jenson Strock) 11.02.2020 8:09
Idea: A reality show showcasing the mystery, intrigue, and drama of cliquey elderly women in a senior living community, who refuse to let a strict, almost totalitarian condominium association destroy their individuality. The elderly women drink, gossip, and call each other out, such as for not cleaning up dog poop in the middle of winter (which caused quite a storm) Originally from Creativity Wast...
Home Stink Home (Alan Black) 11.02.2020 11:11
Idea: A business where a "smell expert" goes to your house and lets you know, for a small fee, if your house smells bad (because sometimes people who live there get used to the smell and don't notice it) Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 77 Alan Black (twitter.com/alanblah) Jenson Strock (twitter.com/J_Strock) Tom Walma (twitter.com/thomaswalma) Recorded at Podcast Detroit (https://podcast...
Modular IndoorOutdoor Electric Flying Car (Tom Walma) 11.02.2020 11:50
Idea (NSFW): A single-person electric car whose chassis can switch between horizontal mode (like a motorcycle) and vertical mode (like a Segway). When in vertical mode, it would be thin enough to fit through an ordinary door, so you could drive it inside buildings and up and down elevators. Modular attachments would be available, such as an SUV-like "family compartment" or a quadcopter flying car...
Human Fossilization (Loyd Digg) 11.02.2020 8:40
Idea (NSFW): A service to fossilize beloved relatives who pass away, instead of burying or cremating them. It's purpose (and ONLY purpose) is to help loved ones remember and reminisce about them Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 76 Matt Hamilton (Podcast moistdefinitelypodcast.com) Bryan Harrison (Podcast moistdefinitelypodcast.com) Bryan Deuchler (Twitter: @MrDrRobot) Loyd Digg (Twitter:...
Johnny Appleweed (Bryan Deuchler) 11.02.2020 9:18
Idea: A service where a guide, midwife, shaman, or whatever conveniently introduces stressed-out straight-edge people to newly-legalized recreational drugs Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 76 Matt Hamilton (Podcast moistdefinitelypodcast.com) Bryan Harrison (Podcast moistdefinitelypodcast.com) Bryan Deuchler (Twitter: @MrDrRobot) Loyd Digg (Twitter: @LoydDigg) Tom Walma (Twitter: @thomasw...
Smoking for Happiness (Bryan Harrison) 11.02.2020 7:40
Bryan was happiest in his life when he was smoking cigarettes. His plan to become happy again is to start smoking again (no wonder he's depressed) Originally from Creativity Wasted episode 76 Matt Hamilton (Podcast moistdefinitelypodcast.com) Bryan Harrison (Podcast moistdefinitelypodcast.com) Bryan Deuchler (Twitter: @MrDrRobot) Loyd Digg (Twitter: @LoydDigg) Tom Walma (Twitter: @thomaswalma) Rec...
