Why do we call Good Friday good? Pastor Ben Hyink delivers a series of short messages on the meaning of Good Friday.

Jesus began the New Creation at His resurrection, and in Him we are made new.

The perfection of God and our maturity in Christ is revealed by our love of our enemies.

Jesus loved us and suffered for us so we might suffer for the kingdom and for our neighbors out of love.

Those with profane lips and profane hearts can only be cleansed by the Holy One who perfectly upheld God's name for us.

As Jesus reveals the full extent of the 7th commandment and our sin, he shows the true greatness and glory of His work for us on the cross to cleanse the impure and defiled.

Those who take life are made alive by the One who is life and gave his life for us.

Christ is the fulfillment of the old and thus is our righteousness. Therefore we are justified by faith and not the law.

Those blessed in Christ are set apart for the gospel and sent into the world.

The blessed life is found in Christ alone and sought by faith alone.

There will always be opposition to the advancement to the Kingdom of God. We need to be careful that we know who the real enemy is and that we trust God, who is great and awesome, will fight for us.

Guest sermon by Pastor Matthew Emadi from our sending church, Crossroads. Hebrews 1:1–4 is a breathtaking description of the person and work of Jesus Christ. The author takes on a journey exploring the Son's exaltation, enthronement, divine power, divine nature, and priestly work of purification. Jesus alone has accomplished our salvation, and as the God-man, he is worthy of our worship.

There is nothing more significant in life than the gospel that Jesus came to safe sinners. This addresses mankind's greatest need: Sin. Nehemiah was ridiculed because of his seemingly insignificant task, but Nehemiah knew that the task of building the Kingdom of God is the greatest task!

Nehemiah 3 is a long list of names and building projects. And in this list we see the gospel of the kingdom proclaimed and the nature and work of the church exposed.

As Nehemiah sees the destruction of the city he identifies with the people and sets his heart to do the work God has set before him, even against the opposition of the enemy. Nehemiah's heart is for the kingdom of God.

Pastor Saeed Emadi from our sending church, Crossroads, fills the pulpit with a message from Psalm 46. In times of turmoil and unrest we have a firm foundation in God and have no need to fear.

Nehemiah made a massive request from the king - to rebuild the city of Jerusalem - and the king says yes! And who does Nehemiah thank? The sovereign God of heaven who blesses his people in order to prepare the way for the Messiah.

Nehemiah responds to the plight of his people and the kingdom of God with prayer. This shows us who God is and where our affections should be placed.

One of the main themes of Scripture is that God desires to dwell with his people. Pastor Ben Hyink explores what this means as we begin a new series through Nehemiah.

Jesus as the Son of Abraham is the dawn of the New Israel and as the Son of David is brings a New Creation. He is our only hope.

Jesus is the true Son of God who suffered and conquered so he alone can save and sympathize with sinners and sufferers.

There is no salvation without the Second Adam.

The kingdom of heaven consists of a repentant people.

Jesus is the Shepherd-King Son of David who gathers his people, is worthy of worship, and reveals the hearts of all.
