The clock is ticking. My hand quilting demo at a local heritage festival is coming up quickly. Can I get it all done in time?

After my fourth work trip in a month I am more than glad to be back at home in the country. I'll discuss how the two environments differ.

There are recurring themes from past disasters and crises. First, we need to be able to survive on our own, and second, being prepared gives us the ability to help others. The pioneers and the early homesteaders understood this and we need to understand it as well.

Our pets and animals are integral to our lives. We need to make sure they are prepped as well. Here is what I'm doing to make sure I have their needs covered.

Fiction and reality are rarely in the same realm. Apocalyptic fiction commonly starts with a complete meltdown and then goes downhill from there. Real events don't usually happen that way. In history, times of crisis tend to start slowly and then ramp up. That seems to be where we are now. We are seeing more and more issues happening with greater frequency, but there is still time to prepare. 

I'm noticing more and more people openly discussing prepping. What used to be considered crazy and eccentric is now looking like normal. Does everyone feel that something is coming?
