Christ is the cornerstone of our faith. A cornerstone in biblical times was the main stone with which every other building stone was aligned. In the same way, we grow into alignment with our chief cornerstone, Jesus, and that alignment helps us become a dwelling place for His presence.

When Jesus is approached by a gentile woman for help, his response might shock us. He calls her a dog. Yet her faith and persistence to petition the Lord for a miracle causes Jesus to grant her request. What are you needing faith for? What crumbs do you need from the master's table?

In the Israelites journey to claim the Promised Land, there's one miracle that stands out above the rest. It's when the sun and moon stood still. Joshua's audacious prayer challenges us to believe God for the same. To be bold and and fearless with our faith in prayer. Need a miracle today? Need the sun to stand still?

The Children of Israel suffered a major defeat at the city of Ai. After the amazing miracle of the walls falling in Jericho, something within their camp lead to an unexpected defeat. Their lesson teaches us the power of hidden sin, but God's mercy through Christ also tells us the power of His love.

We were once dead in our sin, yet in Christ we were brought back to life! Not only did Christ resurrect us, but we were also seated with Him in heavenly realms. As we continue our midweek series in the book of Ephesians, we'll look at what it means to be seated with Christ, and what our response should be to that truth.

When Joshua lead the Israelites into the Promised Land, one of the first stops was Jericho. Their example shows us the power of consistent, faithful obedience. Sometimes the call to obedience doesn't make sense, but like the Old Testament story, it can lead to walls falling down.

In Ephesians chapter 1, Paul relays a prayer that he prays specifically for the church in Ephesus. This simple prayer has powerful implications when applied to our lives. When David was established as King, he sought a way to honor his friendship with his deceased friend Jonathan. That's when he found Jonathan's son, Mephibosheth. King David invited Mephibosheth to dine at his table, and blessed him with the land given to his family. We too, like Mephibostheth, are invited to the table of the Lord, and there's room for everyone to dine with our King!

As we continue our Midweek series on Ephesians, we look at two verses in chapter one that teach us the importance of salvation. It is not something reserved for a special class chosen by God. It is available to whosoever would choose to follow Christ!

Paul's letter to the Ephesians, called by some the pinnacle of the Pauline epistles, is a letter that also applies to our modern day Church. This is a letter about going deeper in your faith, deeper into understanding God, and deeper into relationship with God. The first aspect of this journey with God? Understanding that you are spiritually blessed.

Sin is an awful aspect of the human experience, but in God's love and mercy He has provided us a way to live free from it. How? Through His word. You can live a free life, so consumed with His word and His presence that all temptation seems insignificant compared to knowing Him. The Lord cleanses us, we only have to be washed by The Word.

Elijah was one of the most notable prophets in the old testament. Even so, this man of God had a moment of deep despair. The example of his darkest moment highlights for us how God cares for us in ours. His love and mercy for us in our weakness helps set us on a path to be soul healthy.

The Israelites testing in the wilderness defined their experience leading up to the spies report about the promised land. They had all they needed, yet still grumbled against God. In our own testing seasons, we have the option of following in their footsteps or learning from their example. When you're in a wilderness season, this is how you can thrive.

The Bible is Spirit inspired & God-breathed. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of our heart. It is also the greatest way to know the heart of God. Growing deeper in our Christian faith is directly related to our biblical maturity. It's knowing the scriptures to be sweeter than honey and more desirable than gold.

The Children of Israel had to wander in the wilderness for years before entering the promised land. The lessons they learned in that time helped to equip them for their future promise. In our lives, their example helps us navigate the situations we face every day and it all comes down to following the cloud.

Prayer is one of the identifying markers of a person who is spiritually hungry. The practice and discipline of prayer can lead us to spiritual hunger. The key to prayer isn't what we gain from it, but rather WHO we gain.

Our past can be riddled with pain and struggle, especially struggle with sin. Even so, you can move forward, but it takes trust in God and His complete work on the cross. It takes crossing over the Jordan river in front of us. It takes getting our feet wet in faith.

To be a spiritually hungry people, it's not only about seeking after the Lord. It's about praising Him for who He is! Praise is a lens through which we see God, and it has profound impacts on our view of God. The key to spiritual hunger is praise!

When the Children of Israel crossed the Jordan in the book of Joshua, they stacked stones as a testament to God's miracle working power. What has God already done for you? How has He miraculously intervened? Remembering His goodness in your past is the key to crossing over to your future.

God is not looking for perfection, He is looking for pursuit. There is a promise in scripture that reminds us that when we seek God with our whole heart, we find Him. Being a spiritually hungry people means seeking God with all we have!
