From James 5:1-12. It's so easy to walk around thinking only about the things of this life. But we are called to live in light of eternity. From James 4:11-17. James has a lot to say about our tongues. Too often, we don't use them well. In this passage, we'll look at how we shouldn't slander, judge, boast or brag. From James 4:1-10. We live in a battle - this passage uses lots of war terms. We are to choose wisely which side we are on. We are not to live for our own desires, waging war like the world around us. We are to submit to God, drawing near to him. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From James 3:13-18. God gives wisdom to those who seek him. But there's a different kind of wisdom we could learn - the wrong kind. Let's make sure we're seeking God and not following the ways of the world, the flesh or the devil. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From James 3:1-12. In the previous section, we saw that our faith is supposed to show itself in good works. In this section, we see that our words should be good, too. It's too easy to use our tongues for evil. Let's use them to honor God and build others up! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From James 2:14-26. Are we supposed to have faith or good deeds? Both! If we only say we have faith, but don't do anything to show our faith, James says that kind of faith is dead and useless. Let's demonstrate our faith with good works. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From James 2:1-13. For those of us who know the mercy of God, we should show his mercy to others. We are commanded to love our neighbor as ourselves. We should learn to treat people with mercy. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From Psalm 57. We're pausing our James sermon series for one week to look at how God has revealed his care for us. In Psalm 57, we see a picture of taking refuge in God, like baby chicks would with their mother. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From Matthew 24:36-51. Jesus is coming again. We don't know exactly when he's coming, but we have very important things to do as we watch for him to come again. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From John 4:1-42. In one short conversation, a woman's life was changed by Jesus. In another short conversation, she led other people to Jesus. God can use the story of how we came to Christ in powerful ways. It's called our testimony - let's be willing to share it!

From John 3:16 and others. As we seek to share the gospel, we don't need to re-invent the wheel. God has given us a pattern. From Matthew 9:35-38 and John 4:35-38. In both of these passages, Jesus spoke of the harvest. We should have open eyes to see the harvest around us. We should be earnestly praying in regard to this harvest. We should be ready to work, too. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From 2 Corinthians 5:14-21. We are blessed to have received the gospel. We who know Jesus are also blessed to be ambassadors, with the privilege of sharing the wonderful message of reconciliation. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________

From Mark 4:1-20. In this parable of the sower/seeds/soils, we learn both about what kind of soil reproduces and about what we should expect as we scatter seeds.
