Conversations About Life

Dan and Alex grew up in American Evangelicalism.  Dan is a skeptic.  Alex is still a Christian.  We talk about the Christian story … is it good?  How Evangelical Christians regard the Christian scriptures, especially in America.  And we touch just a bit on politics. Sedric has a rare skin disease called scleromyxedema that effects his body and caused him to have both legs amputated.  Sedric has grown through this experience and has a positive view of life at this point.  He’s 63, climbs rock, cycles, and is active. Sedric

Rob is a Christian with a particular viewpoint of the return of Jesus, the kingdom of God, and things pertaining to the “end times”.  The study of this type of thing is called eschatology.  Rob’s viewpoint is called premillennialism and dispensationalism. Rob

My Aunt was a guest in 2019, but a lot has happened since then.  My Aunt had a fall that changed her way of life and the things she is able to do.  We talk about that and about still experiencing the joy of the Lord. John works as a welder and enjoys riding motorcycles.  John values peace and we talk about it. John

John is a husband, dad, and in the middle of transitioning with his family into a fix-it-upper with some land around it.  We talk about overcoming secrect sin, transparency, and resting in God.  We also talk about mold and some health issues John’s family has struggled with. John

Norm has been rock climbing since the 70’s.  He has experienced the tragic fall and death of a rock climbing partner.  Norm talks about recovering from that and seeing God’s providence. Norm

Alex, educated in philosophy, talks about the philosophical problem of evil, or the problem of pain, as well as animal suffering.  We talk about both the existential, as well as the emotional problem of evil, and practial help for experiencing suffering. Alex

Dan is knowledgeable of the Old Testament in particular and of Christianity as well.  Dan was a Christian but his faith has since fallen away.  We discuss the foundation of morality, and we talk about Christianity. Dan

Anita fought stage 4 cancer determined to overcome it.  She survived it, but it still dealing with the ramifications of the treatment.  We talk about mental attitude, suffering, and faith. Anita

Alex is a Navy veteran, studying in exercise science, a rock climber, and holds to the philosophical theory of absurdism.  We talk about that and religion as well.
