Complexed Simplicity: Candid Talk With Channel

In episode 34 I share my thoughts on the #BLM movement and how we can further push this cause and fight in ways that are authentic, effective, and meaningful. I also discuss the importance of us doing our research before following what everyone is doing and so much more!

In episode 33 I discuss how men and women often guesstimate each other’s salaries when asking the question “what do you do for a living”. I also talk about how when one friend is happy in their life and the other friend is miserable how it changes the dynamics of the friendship. I lastly express the importance of us looking at the outcome of each other’s life choices when accepting/giving advice....

In this episode I talk about police brutality against blacks, how we ALL have to take a stand, and I share some of my journey in aligning my purpose with my career.

In episode 31 I reference this past week’s episode of Insecure to discuss how our behaviors in friendships can show themselves in our love lives!! I also discuss a few more of my views that go against popular opinion!

In Episode 30 I share my thoughts on the Verzuz battles and the concept of competition.

In episode 29 I talk about how I have passionately expressed my views in the last few episodes and the importance of me remaining unapologetic with my perspective. I also discuss how the stories that we are told from young about Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny.

Episode 28 was inspired by an interview that was done with Gabrielle Union where she explained that many black entertainers are 1-2 Paychecks away from not being able to pay their bills! She also discusses how fame does not equate wealth and that many celebrities’ lives are not what you think!

In episode 27 I share how I see more and more women of color in my day to day life and in the entertainment industry getting plastic surgery. I discuss the importance of us recognizing why we don’t love ourselves and addressing those reasons before we run to change our outward appearance.

In episode 26, I talk about how there is an art to reconnecting with someone who you may have had conflict with. I also discuss how our love for messiness can negatively impact our friendships if we are not careful.

In episode 25 I discuss how interesting and intriguing the “sister dynamic” is......especially in famous families! I also discuss how sometimes sisters/siblings are bred to share the same dreams and passions when they should be encouraged to find their individual purpose.

In episode 24 I talk about some great series I’ve been watching that address life topics that we all experience, I give a pregnancy update, and what this quarantine has showed me!

In episode 23 I discuss the importance of being able to identify important gems in the message without being distracted by the delivery. I use two clips from interviews held with Dame Dash to illustrate this point. There was a recent interview that Hollywood Unlocked did and an interview that Nick Cannon did a year ago.

In episode 21 I talk about how we all have a price that would tempt us to compromise our value system and sell out. I also discuss how some of us are willing to play “the game” to get ahead even if that means displaying stereotypical behavior. Lastly, I ask the question......does our career define who we are???
