Shelby helped us see our role in pastorally caring for each other, and how our wounds give us perspective, experience, and wisdom to position us to be able to help others better.

Jackie preached about the question “Why?” and shared with us from vulnerable places of the juxtaposition of Jeremiah 17:5-8.

Phil reflected on the year and invited us to give thanks to God for all he has done.

Jackie spoke about how the incarnation inspires us to respond to his invitation and live our lives for him.

Phil launched our Advent series with the expectation of the prophecy in Isaiah 9 that we see fulfilled in the birth of the messiah.

Amy summarised the whole year of learning in the Next Generation space

Ben considers postures of worship and how they reflect our heart attitude as we approach worship before God. Lifting hands in surrender, bowing knees in submission, and pouring out in trust.

Phil looks at the world today and encourages us to follow the one who is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Heb 13:8)

With Hebrews 13:8 in mind (Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever) we remembered that God, who calls us to say ‘yes’ to Jesus, is the same God who called people in the Bible, and called people 97 years ago to start what became Como Baptist Church. We also have a call to say ‘yes’ to Jesus every day.

Phil gave us a summary of what we have been studying in Philippians over the last 12 weeks. He then closed the service (and the series) by reading key parts of Philippians as though Paul were writing the letter to us.

Jackie spoke about being content in the circumstances we find ourselves in. Philippians 4:10-23

Ben spoke about finding peace in the midst of the storms of life. Philippians 4:4-7

Phil spoke a message about cultivating our maturity and how it can build our encouragement to each other.

As part of our series about encouraging one another, Amy helps us see why it is important to pray for each other

Jackie spoke a message about perseverance titled “Remember” from Philippians 3.

Philippians 2:12-30. Phil finds 5 A's of service in Paul's letter to the Philippians: Availability, Action, Attitude, Appetite, and Affection.

Philippians 2:3-11. Ben opens up discussion on humility and asks if it is a weakness or a strength?

Amy helps us understand what it means to encourage someone, and gets us to encourage one other person today

Philippians 1:27-2:2. Shelby encouraged us to pursue unity, integrity, and courage as forms of encouraging each other.

Philippians 1:12-26. Encourage one another with Joy and Good News. Finding joy in God rather than our circumstances.

Philippians 1:1-11. Encourage one another with Thankfulness and Prayer. Thank God, Pray with joy, Let love abound.

Phil shared a kids message about Jesus as our closest friend. Jesus comforts us, cleanses us, and carries us.

Phil introduced our new series - Designed for Discipleship. We will be working through the book of Philippians and exploring how we can encourage each other as part of discipling one another. Phil gave an overview of Philippians and helped us understand some of the context and background as we start the series.

Ben looks at how God calls us to remember all he has done in the past as we look towards the challenges ahead of us, and then interviews Phil and Jackie about the Chapel Hill story and vision ahead.
