It is the job of the Holy Spirit to preserve the word of God. The Holy Spirit keeps the believers from falling into idolatry. Which is what caused the children of Israel to stumble many times. This is also what causes the body of Christ to stumble today. Guard your minds from having idols that you may pick up on this pilgrim journey.

We need the Holy Spirit in order to be affective witnesses for the Lord Jesus. I believe that all believers are baptized with the Holy Spirit. But I do believe that it is possible for the Holy Spirit to come on a group for a particular work like it did for the Apostles. The Holy Spirit is what leads us to testify about the Lord Jesus and His word. The Holy Spirit allows ordinary men and women to do super unordinary things.
