John has been showing how Satan uses deception. Now John will show what it means to be truly saved. But what does that mean? How do we know if we are truly saved? That’s what this podcast will discuss.

I continue in the passage from 1st John where he is warning them about the deception of the devil. This podcast will continue to look into how Satan is still using deception as his greatest tool against mankind.

John is going to share with the young believers the importance of not being deceived. The question comes to mind about our current state; are we deceived? This podcast will look at this question.

In this passage John will begin to discuss the tool of deception used by the enemy. One of the ways that the believers in John’s day, as well as us today, are deceived, is by sin. This podcast will discuss how the deception of misunderstanding sin is harming us.

Often we measure everything in life by doing. Yet when it comes to the Christian life, Jesus taught us everything is upside down from what culture teaches us. This podcast will look at the passage in 1st John 3:2-3 and see it’s more about being with Jesus than doing things for Jesus.

John talks about one of the blessings we get from our salvation—being called God’s children. But what does that really mean? This podcast will discuss how important that is and what that means for the Christ-follower daily.

John is going to talk with the young believers about God’s love. But have we made God’s love conditional due to overpreaching/teaching about the love of God? Are we truly in awe of the love of God the way we should be? That’s what this podcast will discuss.

John has talked a lot about abiding, as have I. But do we really know how to abide? Do we know what abiding in Jesus really is or means? That’s what will be looked at and discussed in this podcast.

John continues talking with these young believers telling them the importance of abiding in the Word and the Holy Spirit to recognize false teaching. This same message applies to us today. Am I abiding in the Word? Would I recognize false teaching? That’s what this podcast will discuss.

In John’s Gospel in chapter 15, Jesus talks about the Vine and the branch and abiding. John now talks again to these believers he is writing to about the importance of abiding in Christ in light of the false teachers he just mentioned to look out for.

John has told us about false teaching in the previous passage. Now he shows us that we must have discernment to know what the truth is. But how do we discern? This podcast will discuss how we discern false teaching from truth.

John showed that there are false teachers when he said to look out for the antichrists. However, in this passage John will show that they came out of the church. But just becasue someone goes to church doesn’t mean they are a Christ follower. This podcast will look at this passage of determining a false teacher.

John moves from not loving the world to understanding that there will be false teachers that we need to look out for. Do we have antichrists in our day? What does John mean and how do determine who they are? That’s what this podcast will look at.

John will show in this passage how that abiding will help overcome the lust of the flesh, eyes, and pride of life. This podcast will talk about what that means and how to apply that daily.

In this episode, we will look at what the lust of the eyes describes. We will also look at what way we can combat against the lust of the flesh and eyes that Scripture teaches.

John has stated not to love the world, but now he tells us to not love the things in the world. The first one that will be discussed is what is the lust of the flesh and is that something I struggle with?

In this passage of 1st John 2:15, John commands for the believers not to love the world. But do we really know what the “world” is? That’s what this podcast will discuss.

In this passage John takes the time to reassure and encourage those he is writing to. How can we apply this to our lives.? That’s what this podcast will discuss.

In this passage John begins to compare and contrast someone who says they love God and loves others [light] with those who say they love God but don’t love others [darkness]. John says that we can be so blind to the darkness that we can walk in it and not even realize it. So this raises the question: do I really love others? That’s what this podcast will discuss.

John is going to talk about the command of love from the Old Testament and what Jesus states in the New Testament. Jesus even goes so far as to say that His followers are to love others as He loves us. So what does that look like and mean for us? That’s what this podcast will discuss.

In this podcast John continues talking about what it looks like to know you are saved. He goes further to tell us that we need to walk like Jesus walked. So what does that look like for my life? That’s what this podcast session will discuss.

In 1st John 2:4, he is going to talk about someone who professes to be a Christian but their life does not seem to line up with that statement. What are we supposed to do in situations like that? Are we to address it? Isn’t that being judgmental? That’s what I will talk about in this podcast.

Can someone really know they are saved? John shows us in 1st John 2:3 that there is a way that we can know for sure if we are a Christ follower. What is it? That’s what this podcast will discuss today.

As we begin the second chapter of 1st John, we are going to see John say we have an Advocate in Jesus Christ. But what does that mean? That’s what we will discuss in this episode.

As we finish up the first chapter of 1st John, John will deal with the topic of people who don’t think they have sinned. I think this lines up with where we are as a culture with believing morality, being a good person, doing right things, is good enough to just add Jesus to that for salvation. What does the Bible say about this? That’s what this podcast will talk about.
