1 Peter 1:1-2. Our Identity as Christian's…our place in the world (Exiles) and our standing before God (Elect).

James warns against a self-deception that leads to worthless religion.  He therefore provides three tests for all of us to apply so that we know that we have received the real deal of Jesus Christ.

James urges us this week to be people who don't just say we agree with things God says but to actually live them out, otherwise we are deceiving ourselves.

Statistically and experientially, the world is getting angrier, and we are also contributors in various ways. Today we look of James' wisdom and how we can be ambassadors of peace and the realms we have control over.

Dealing with Sin and Temptation - James 1v13-15

This week James has some provocative words and reveals that both wealth and poverty are trials the Christians face.

James 1:5-8 teaches us that in order to grow in maturity as Christ-followers we need God’s wisdom.

We kick off our James series by getting an introduction to James and his audience and then explore the topic of trials as James tells us to remember that they are a normal part of life, God has a purpose in them and that we can rejoice in what God is doing in the midst of our hardships.

We end off our In God, for the World series by looking at Embodied Community.

Ephesian 2:10 10  For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Being in Christ Jesus, means walking in good works.
