Following Jesus hinges on “Being with Him”. Our doing flows from our being – it’s such an important reality in our walk of faith. Before we do amazing things with Him, obey His word or serve others – we have to grow in coming to Him.

As we transition from the Book of Jonah to our Red Letter Challenge, we will see that even though Jonah was used by God, he still was not secure in God. Our lives are fragile and we all wrestle with so many things. This is exactly why we need a firm foundation and to build our lives on Jesus Christ and on who He is and what He has said.

In this week’s message from the book of Jonah we see the beauty of Jonah’s obedient response to God’s invitation. God is about to reveal Himself to Nineveh and Jonah has an opportunity to be part of a powerful move of God. Just like Jonah, each of us have the opportunity to join our Father in His ministry 

Life is full of storms and they come for different reasons. Sometimes they are the result of our hard hearts. Other times they are just the result of unforeseen circumstances. Storms can be scary and they can reveal who we trust and who we worship. God will never waste a storm in our lives.

The book of Jonah is a powerful expression of God’s relentless pursuit of those who know Him and those who do not. God is passionate about winning our hearts. In our first part of this series we will look at “Renewal” and how it is so needed in our own hearts.

If we can only experience our Father’s heart more and more daily, it’ll change every part of our lives! Too many of us have a distorted view of our Father and that affects our view of ourselves and others. Just like Jesus was affirmed and loved by our Father, each of us can experience His love and affirmation.

God's perfect love casts out fear. This is why it’s important for us to experience our Father’s heart. Knowing our Heavenly Father is extremely powerful. 

We all know that the Christmas story is about hope being birthed into the world. But what exactly are we hoping for? And what if the things we hope for, maybe even things we felt God had promised us, don’t happen (or at least, not as we expected)? As we enter the third week of Advent season, we’ll explore what it means to say Jesus is the hope of nations (Matt. 12:21).

God does not delight in religious obligatory giving. He is a relational God who loves His children. God calls us to honor Him with our finances, responding to His faithfulness. Our giving does not earn God’s goodness, but it’s a response to His goodness. The word of God is so powerful and it reveals the ways of God to us.
