A tribute to Rock & Roll pioneer Fats Domino, with songs by him, and covers of his songs. Plus new releases galore: Jim Byrnes, Harry Manx, Robert Plant, Oh Susanna, Little Miss Higgins, Abigail Washburn & Bela Fleck, Railroad Earth, Jim Page, etc. A preview of next week's Cape Breton Kitchen party with Beolach, and a liberal sprinkling of "zombie dust" - a Halloween feature with a difference!

This planet is too beautiful and wondrous for us to allow it to be destroyed by murderers and stupid politicians. Music expresses these thoughts better than I Can, so that's what I played today. Lots of stormy songs today, plus a tribute to Walter Becker (Steely Dan) who died this week They were one of my favourite bands in the 1970s. Also focused on upcoming Rogue shows (Maria Muldaur, The Bills, Laurie Lewis, Garnet Rogers) and did a ticket giveaway for Amy Hem's show next Sunday at the Wise Music Hall.

Steve Edge is off having fun at the Edmonton Folk Festival, and you have Paul Norton (from Code Blue) at ze controls. Paul presents the usual melange of new releases, folk curios and concert previews, delivered in a hopefully entertaining and informative fashion. Without TOO many technical glitches.

Broadcast live from Jericho Park at the 40th annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival. We had a bit of a problem with the router at around 8:50 and were off the air until around 9:20 I think. A few guests swung by for a chat, but not nearly as many as I'd hoped. Big thanks to Pascale and the rest of the CiTR crew for making it happen - also to Richard who was hosting at the station.

Over 4 and a half hours of Canadiana, starting with some immigrants from Cuba, Africa, Haiti, India, Persia, and Turkey, then adding a few French songs from Quebec and Acadie, and some Cape Breton Gaels, before cruising right across the Great White North from Newfoundland to BC

Mostly new releases and a few festival preview artists. Loose theme was John Martyn's song. I don't want to know about evil, either.

Filled in for Arthur and Andrea on Pacific Pickin' with a whole mess of Bluegrass and related acoustic music. Not sure how to save this anywhere but on my show's pages, so that's what I did!

Tributes to Vin Garbutt - English singer who passed away this week. Also to Gregg Allman and Jimmy LaFave, and some Pogues for a woman who requested them last week in memory of her recently departed hubbie. Features on Mr. Dave (Lindley) and new releases from Oumou Sangare and Bokante booke-ended the show, which ran into overtime.
