CiTR -- Powerchord

The world is dismal so I am going to play some music that is crushing and I will play some music with hope.

Serena is back in studio live and letting it all hang out! Joined later by co-host, Ian!

The world is chaotic right now, and we got the soundtrack. Ian comes charging out of the gate this episode, with new bangers from Vemon Prison, Eliminator, and the all-powerful neuro-prog thrash legends VOIVOD! Ian will also highlight some of his favourite releases from the previous year, playing tracks from Laceration, Carcass, Spectral Wound and Froglord! We'll also pay tribute to the courageous...

Split twice down the middle, bookended by pure light and total darkness. Depraved humiliation of lifelessness. 666!

Coleman is back in the saddle with some Leviathan to kick things off, some new CanCon, and holy hell we get to talk about LIVE MUSIC! Full fuckin capacity live music! Upcoming gigs from Ape War and BOG, Sumac, and the Immolation headliner feat. Mortiferum and Imperial Triumphant. It's a harsh show, folks. Not a lot of clean vocs on this one (thanks Maule), so buckle up.

The Ol'Dirty Hick is joined by Chris Rob and Dustin from Balkan and we spin records and talk music and anything else that comes up. We have music from Balkan's new self-titled release as well as here some metal for the 80's in Toronto, Kraken and Savage Steel. we got Stoner doom with Drug Sauna, and Space Doom from Low Orbit and we will get a bit Black with Crystal Coffins brand new release The St...

*NOT A METAL SHOW* A little bonus show for anyone who cares. Coleman and his daughters do some fill-in programming for the 2022 Fundrive and get verrrrry loose with the playlist. It's rough and all-over-the-place, but a lot of fun, much like the station we love. Hope ya'll dig

Ferris again. Fuckin up the airwaves with a playlist of exclusively Canadian, exclusively extreme tunes. Ferris wishes to stipulate that he loves all peoples and hates all countries. Breathe deep the Dead Reek of the Abyss Beyond Light, and Erase the Earth.

Coleman is back in studio, doing a bit of 2021 recap, and featuring new crushers from Mizmor, VoidCeremony, Phrenelith, and plenty more. Only slightly buzzed and rambling, mostly coherent \m/

Serena is back at it and found some international progressive and crushing metal. Bands from Italy, UK, Costa Rica, US, and more. Lots of new Canadian metal too - Vital Spirit, Dream Unending, Wormwitch, Balkan, Winter Graves and more. Also some traditional Turkish songs made into some progressive noise metal. Get into it!

Ol' Dirty Hick pulls from some of his favourite albums of 2021. Type O Negative was re-issue and that some of the stuff I never knew I needed in my life. Goth Doom and speaking of Goth Doom BRNO out of Argentina brings it. Daxma, Monolord, and Jointhugger hold the frame work of doom together. The corner stone of this show was 15+minutes of Goddamn High from Earthbong. Check out the show it is a gr...

Ian & Ferris team up to bring some riffs on New Years' Day! We're digging through Ferris' vinyl collection and playing some favourites, old and new. Today Is The Day Ian gets exposed to Ferris' ALL TIME favourite band for the first time, plus we'll dig a classic song from Grim Reaper's debut album out of the Graveyard!

Coleman is up for a Christmas Day broadcast with personal faves from 2021, some new jams from Arde and Nekrovault, a ton of great CanCon through the year, and some highlights from our year in broadcasting. Thanks for tuning in, see you in 2022!

Satisfy your rifflust and praise the pagan winter solstice rituals of old with a special winter holiday-themed episode of Powerchord!!! We kick it off with Tampa death metal legends Nocturnus and their gloriously sacrilegious, nativity-demolishing anthem "Destroying the Manger" from their 1990 album The Key! We'll also face the onrushing cold of the winter months with a trio of frigid Quebecois bl...

Ferris again. A little bit less drunk, a lotta bit more death. SUBMIT!!!

Serena is back after a couple years hiatus (thanks Covid and baby)! Serena is also joined in studio by co-host Justin. I come out swinging with Candlemass and get into some black metal - Thantifaxath, Spectral Wound and Sorguinazia. Some epic and beautiful vocals come in the from of Blackwater Holylight, Big Brave and Crypta. Also featuring tunes from Stormkeep, Mortiferum, Power Trip, Balkan and...

Coleman is in house, featuring tunes from a heap of local shows (Napalm Death, Eyehategod, Swallow the Sun, Unleash the Archers, Neck of the Woods) and new music from Converge, Hyperdontia, Ethereal Shroud, and plenty more! With much banter re. the floods in BC (and my basement), the reality of live music in BC amid current Covid restrictions, and the looming spectre of year-end-list season. JOIN...

We are hitting up the B-Sides of the Vinyls today. Starting with Monolord's brand new album Your Time To Shine the B-side holds an amazing space and is reminiscent of Pink Floyd Meddle. Some O Type Negative and in a similar vein Port in The Storm from Victoria's Hail the Void . later on we get into some New Creeping Death and the entireB-side of that album followed by Carass' new album Torn Arteri...
