JRR Tolkien was not only the prolific writer of the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit series, he was a lifetime Catholic who also had the pleasure of leading CS Lewis to Jesus Christ. The Tolkien Society, of which Tolkien himself was once president is celebrating his life with a series of essays including: "Transgender Realities in The Lord of the Rings,"  "The Queer in Tolkien’s The Lor...

There is a TON of talk about race lately. And Jesus had run ins with race as well. He approached these issues differently than most people are doing today. I want to look at one of my favorite parts of Jesus life and that comes out of John 4. This event holds just about everything you need to know about God and worship and Jesus and race and sin and judgment and love. Right now, almost every news...

Across many countries, Christianity is being pushed down, which has been happening for 2000 years, but the recent uptick in persecution must be noted and watched to see how the local church and the individual believer are going to respond. America and largely the Western world has been hailed as based on Judeo-Christian roots and this is by and large true. The morality of especially the American f...

We begin today again talking about the president and the continuing saga of Catholic bishops that are fighting to either accept him as a flawed human or hold him to the standard of the Catholic church. I've been thinking about this issue and I have a few more thoughts so today we are going to talk more theologically and then get to the practical application not only for the President, but for...

Why does the left always want to have fewer people on this earth? They consistently vote for and propose and fight for measures that remove people from the planet? My value, and this is based on Biblical value, is to allow the most people the best life possible. God has created every human soul unique and valuable.  Today we look at some stories about the left's assault on, well, people. -- T...

Happy Father's Day! First of all, we thank you and love all you fathers out there for all you do! We would not be here without you and you are worth celebrating! Unfortunately, there are those in this culture who do not feel the same. Today we are going to look at why the culture hates fathers and wants, more than anything, to get rid of them. Thanks for choosing ChurchPublic! Support the sho...

Do you know your rights? Do you know where rights come from? Does the government give you rights or is there something bigger than government? Without clarity on rights it is impossible to have liberty and justice for all! . . #keepthefaith #churchpublic  #churchpublicpodcast #faith #hope #love #Jesus #church #public #culture #spiritual #religious #faithandculture #podcast #philosophy #speaker #bl...

The corporations, the kids channels, the toy companies, the cereal companies just won't leave my kids alone. They seem to think they know better than I do about how to parent my kids. Sorry, no, my responsibility is to protect my children from  ideas and ideologies, especially sexual ones, that they are not mature enough for yet. These cartoons are aimed at little kids.  Parents, you need to...

But I'm just not sure which one... The American flag represents the country and the values therein. To put another flag up with the American flag at a US Embassy, is to give the full weight of the country of America and all of its values. This says the additional flag is of the same value as our liberty. If you post another flag on the same pole or next to the American flag, you are saying, A...

The 2022 budget was just released and there is a lot of interesting things in it that will create some unfortunate circumstances, but today I want to focus on what is NOT in the budget. As I have mentioned before, this administration is the most progressive in MANY ways but especially when it comes to protecting unborn lives. In other words, this administration does not. In fact this administratio...

Modern America is much like Ancient Athens. Yeah, I know that sounds impossible and no, we don’t speak Greek or wear funny robes, but the way we speak is still, after thousands of years, much the same. I’d like to tell you a story about Socrates, the Epicureans and Stoics, and the Apostle Paul. We will start first with Socrates and bear with me til the end, I think this will help us understand our...

It seems that the culture is increasingly spiritual, but not in a Biblical way.  Today we are looking at the rise in witchcraft, tarot and even spells and what God thinks of all of that.  Spoiler Alert: God doesn't love it. Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God . Leviticus 19:31 Actually much of Leviticus 19-20 deals with this,...

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.  Prov 22:6 Education is so important and yet today much of education revolves around the values of the world, not the values of the Bible or even morality or responsibility or what ancient writers called civic duty, what is happening and what should we do? . . #keepthefaith #churchpublic  #churchpublicpodcast...

Once upon a time there was a group of people who all spoke the same language and they really wanted to accomplish a great thing together so they said, hey let's build a tower up to the heavens so we can be like God. Now the culture is once again trying to divide us with language, but this time it is not for our good. Thanks for listening! Don't forget to check out ChurchPublic on Youtube...
