This week I got the opportunity to chop it up with two Black male educators, Mr. Thomas and Mr. Oguande. We discuss how we each arrived at being educators, what we hope to inspire in the youth we teach and some encouragement for anyone in the profession. This is part 1 or a 2 part conversation that you can easily take in during your lunch break or the ever elusive prep.

I get the opportunity to finish up my conversation with Principal Sanon about the realities of teaching. In our conversation she drops gems on why it's so important to be at a school that "sees" all of you, why it's important to have a admin team that helps you grow by being explicit and  why representation is so important.
