No matter where you come from, bringing God into your daily circumstances through repentance is what leads to change. God holds us to the vows we make to him, but he does not need our help to accomplish his purposes.

Our enemies are persistent and their attacks are relentless, therefore we must not rest after a victory, but stay vigilant. Any strength that we have to resist comes from the lord. If we rely on our own strength, we may not notice that God has left us.

Through the life of Barak, we learn several things about faith. Faith calls to the Lord to be restored, follows through on what is true, tackles conflict until it is licked, is faithful amidst unfaithfulness, and is courageous for the Lord.

When we sow bad seed, we should expect bad plants. That is our problem, not the other guy’s. Even our little ideas can get us into trouble when they are not from the Lord. Remember that his ways are higher than ours and do not fear; he is able!

Rahab’s faith was shown by her actions because the God of heaven affected her life on earth. She was concerned for her family, which reminds us that we need to pray for our unsaved loved ones. The scarlet thread of redemption leads to Jesus.

Are you ready to surrender to Jesus? We are to submit ALL things to the Lord. This includes the things we think are good. We are to role up all aspects of our lives and give them to him. Trust, commit, serve and be still with compassion and persistence.

When we turn our backs on God, we not only dishonor him, but we miss out on his blessings. Choose to hold fast unto the Lord. We need to be good examples by making the commitment to follow the Lord. Challenge yourself to give your whole life to him.

Much of being faithful is doing the same thing over and over again without understanding what the outcome will be. We should do this without grumbling or complaining. Consistent patience and perseverance are necessary for every believer every day.

Before we ask for God’s blessing, we need to know his will and realize that he is in command. That means that we need to do what he wants, not what we want. Once we recognize the holiness of God, we will humble ourselves and listen for his voice.

When someone is overcome by bitterness, there are four steps that can help. We should run to him because he uses problems to bring us to him. We should believe him and know his promises. We should keep our commitments to him, and we should praise him.

From today’s passage, we learn six important points for acting in faith: Faith moves toward the lord, receives the call of the lord, accepts instruction from the lord, obeys the lord, recounts the lord’s faithfulness, and lays a foundation for the future.

God himself chose who would be the successor to Moses. When choosing leaders in the church, we must look for servants of the Lord. Each of us must also be dedicated to studying and taking in the word of God, making time for daily study.

Sometimes God tells us to “go” but we want to know more first. Due to our fear, we say “no” and miss out. Satan, the father of lies, wants us to be afraid and lose the blessing. We need to encourage each other to go forward, following God in trust.

There are over 600 commandments in the law and we cannot be saved by keeping any of them. We are only saved by faith in what Jesus has done. Although not under the law, we can fulfill the law of Jesus Christ, which is to love God and love our neighbor.

God does not want us to be stressed or to complain; both show a lack of trust. He wants us to talk with Him daily and bring our needs to Him. We can trust that He will provide even when we see no hope, especially when we are following what He commands.

It is only after we set our minds on Jesus that we can be of any earthly good. When we lift our faces to Him, He will be all we can see. He is the only one who can save us. Do not be afraid. Look up! But without the resurrection, there is no message.

In Jesus’ day, the people wanted a political savior, as people today do. But what they needed was peace with God. What we want is not always what we need. They didn’t recognize the time of God’s coming because they were too focused on what they wanted.

Knowing that our life is brief, we need to pray for wisdom. Pray to be able to see what God is doing so that we can be glad even during trials. Pray that God uses and blesses our work for his purpose. How can we best use the time that he has given us?

God still leads his people today if we are willing to listen. Sometimes when we follow God, He leads us into impossible situations. Stand firm in faith. The Lord will fight for you. Remember, God’s way is “through" not “around."

Some of the very things the Egyptians worshiped were sent to them in the plagues. Eventually, all the things that this world worships will be judged, but Passover celebrates a new start. In the end, God will bring all of His people home out of bondage.

When God speaks to you, what do you say? If you think you are not up to His calling, remember that humility is good only up to the point where it becomes an excuse. God uses the things in hand that He has already provided us to accomplish His purpose.

In his early years, Moses thought he knew more than he did. Two-thirds of his life was just preparation. How well do we understand that God is preparing us too? While this can be scary, the key is to keep looking to Jesus and to be faithful in the work.

Moses had to decide for himself what he was going to do based on his faith. He chose to follow God, to be known as a Jew, to be mistreated along with his people, and to accept disgrace over the wealth of Egypt. Pray and ask what God wants for your life.

The life of Moses started with the faith of his parents who did not let fear control them. His midwives feared God and did not do what the authorities commanded. The apostles defied authority as did Daniel. In the end, fear God and keep his commandments.

Our hearts need to be in the land promised, not just the one we live in today. Our lives are not in the hands of men, but in the hands of God and death is not our end. Live in His promises—to fight our battles, provide for us, and be with us in heaven.+
