John 21 records the third time Jesus appeared to the Disciples after the Resurrection. Jesus told Peter to feed His sheep and challenged Peter to follow Him even if it meant to an eventual martyrdom.

Jesus rises from the dead, appears to His disciples, and announces a blessing for those who weren't there to see Him in His resurrected body but yet believe.

Jesus tells His disciples that they will be put out of the synagogue and potentially killed because they follow Him. He then goes on to tell them why, despite all this, they need not be troubled or worried. His words have significant meaning for the challenges we face today.

Jesus gave an illustration to His disciples about gardening, pruning and bearing fruit that speaks to the process God uses to grow us and cause us to bear much spiritual fruit. 

John Chapter 14 "Let not your hearts be troubled" 26.07.2020

As chapter 13 closed the disciples were confused and frightened. Jesus told them, "let not your hearts be troubled" and then went on to give them seven truths for them (and us) to remember whenever we have a troubled heart.

Having received extravagant love in Chapter twelve, Jesus now models it, gives it and commands it under His New Covenant "love one another as I have loved you."

Jesus declares that He is the Resurrection and the Life and then proves it by raising Lazarus from the dead.

Jesus declared Himself to be both the Shepherd and the Gate for His Sheep. 

John Chapter Nine "I have come so that the blind may see" 21.06.2020

There is more than one type of blindness! The irony in chapter nine is that by the end of it everyone involved in the story, except Jesus and the man he gave sight to, are the ones who are blind.   

John Chapter Eight "I AM" 15.06.2020

After refusing to condemn a woman caught in adultery Jesus declared that He was the light of the world, that God was His Father, and that He existed before Abraham lived as "I am."

John Chapter Seven "Come to Me and Drink" 07.06.2020

At the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles Jesus proclaimed to all that He was the One who can satisfy our deepest thirst. 

John Chapter SIx "I am the Bread of Life" 31.05.2020

Jesus came from Heaven to be the Bread of Life. When Jesus spoke about our need to "eat his body and drink his blood" the crowds took His words literally and many followed Him no more. This chapter ends with Peter saying "where else can we go."

John Chapter Five tells the story of a miraculous healing beside a pool and the angry reaction to it by some religious leaders who accused Jesus of Sabbath breaking and blasphemy.
