Scripture teaches us to accept one another despite our differences.  The church is not a group of people who all look the same, talk the same, vote the same way, or even believe all of the exact same things.  The church is made up of all sorts of different people who have Jesus in common.  As we accept one another, it brings praise, glory, and honor to God. A sincere word of encouragement can make a huge impact on our lives and the lives of others, and The God of Encouragement (Romans 15:5) came to dwell in you to be an encouragement to you and to use you to be an encourager to others. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 - Encourage one another and build one another up, just as in fact you are doing.

Forgiving someone is not always easy, but as a new creation in Christ, we are to forgive one another as the Lord forgave us.  Being completely forgiven and justified in Christ is what frees us to be able to forgive and reconcile.

There are 59 one another passages in the New Testament.  Love one another is listed more than any of the others.  Today we lay the foundation for this series and talk about what it looks like to love one another.

The church is in the community to FOR the community.  We do not exist for ourselves.  The feeding of the 5,000 (Mark 6:30-44) shows us how Jesus has compassion for those in the community, will use us to meet needs, is the One who satisfies, and provides abundantly.

In James final section of Scripture, he teaches about prayer.  Pray when you have trouble, pray when you are happy, pray when you are sick, pray for those who are lost.  He says that the prayers of a righteous person are powerful and effective.

We all face hardships and difficult situations in life.  In this passage, James shows how to face those tough times in our life.  The Lord is full of compassion and mercy, and we don't have to walk through these times alone.

In this passage, James talks about slander, arrogant planning, and riches.  When we are walking in pride and in our flesh, what gets manifested is slander, boasting in our self-made plans, and trusting in money for security and satisfaction.  But when we fix our minds on Christ and who we are in Him, our speech is uplifting, we trust in God's plan for our lives, and He is our security and satisfac...
