Sermon Text: Genesis 35 As the story of Isaac comes to an end, we are transitioned to the final narratives of the book of Genesis. This chapter sets us up for several key themes while wrapping up themes that we have already studied.

Jacob's daughter is sexually assaulted. In this week's passage, we will see Jacob be passive and cowardly while his sons are filled with righteous anger. Yet their anger turns into unjust vengeance. We discuss the difference between justice and vengeance and how we as Christians should respond to injustice.

Sermon Text: Genesis 33 Jacob and Esau finally meet and we see how forgiveness and reconciliation can work. We also see that Jacob, while being wise and faithful, still has deceitfulness inside him as he begins to settle in the Promised Land.

Sermon Text: Genesis 32 In a famous passage, we see Jacob finally preparing to meet with Esau, the brother he wronged. On his way he wrestles with the Lord, and in that event the grace of God overwhelms and changes his life forever.

God promised Jacob 3 things: he would become a great people, have prosperity,and have land. The first promise was beginning to come true with 12 children but the other 2 promises seemingly had not begun to come true. This passage we will see the other two promises begin to happen with one overarching point: God did it.
