Christ 4 Kids!

How much time are taking out of our day to spend with God? Jesus thought it was important to do often, so we should too :) Today's memory verse: Luke 5:16 "Jesus often slipped away to other places to be alone so that he could pray."

As we read through the Bible, it leaves lots of "I wonders" running through our heads. Very fun stuff to think about! There's one thing we will never have to wonder about- God Love for us! Today's memory verse: Matthew 1:23 "She will have a son, and they will name him Immanuel. This name means God is with us."

Heading into Thanksgiving week, imagine God's heavenly table that He is preparing for you right now! Today's memory verse: Psalm 23:5 "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies."

God can handle all of our questions! His Word has the answers! Today's memory verse: Mark 12:27

When we need God's help, all we have to do is call out to Him! That's our part! He does the rest! Today's memory verse: Psalm 145:18 "The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who who truly pray to Him."

We can use very few, or even no words at all! Sometimes, the less the better! Today's memory verse: Matthew 6:7 "They continue saying these things that mean nothing. They think that God will hear them because of the many things they say."

At the Passover meal Jesus decided to do something extraordinary. He washed His disciples feet. This was typically the job of the lowest of low servants. But Jesus wanted to wash away any doubt in their minds of His love for them. He washed their feet right before He washed away our sins on the cross! Jesus tells us that others will know that we are his followers by our love for one another. We should love non believers, of course. But we should especially love our brothers and sisters in Christ! Today's memory verse: John 13:35 "All people will know that you are my disciples if you love one another."

Our first reaction when someone treats us badly is to get mad and get even. Jesus instructs us to do the opposite. Let's talk about it! Today's memory verse: Luke 6:27-28 "But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

Think about Jesus' hands nailed to the cross, and God's hands that put Him there because he loves us so much! Today's memory verse: Philippians 2:8 "He humbled Himself and was fully obedient to God. He obeyed even when that caused his death, death on a cross."

Jesus is able to anything and everything we ask of Him! He marvels at great faith, and that's what we have! Today's memory verse: Luke 10:19 "I give you more power than the enemy has."

Let's read the parable of the unforgiving servant that Jesus shared with Peter to learn about forgiveness! Matthew 18: 21-35 Today's memory verse: Isaiah 1:18 "Though you sins are like scarlet, they shall be white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool."

We can't always control what happens t ous but we can control how we think about it, how we react to it, and what we do about it! We have the choice!

Faith is believing in something that we can't see. We know Jesus is the Son of God even though we have never saw him! We know heaven awaits us even though we haven't been there yet! Today's memory verse: Hebrews 11:1 "Faith means being sure of the things we hope for. And faith means knowing that something is real even if we do not see it."

When we praise God we magnify Him! We make Him bigger! We draw closer to Him! We see that we have a HUGE God who can handle all of our prayers! Today's memory verses: Psalm 34:3 "Tell of the greatness of the Lord with me. Let us praise His name together." Revelation 4:8 "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, He was, He is, and He is to come."

God gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit to help guide us through our lives! We receive this gift when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior! Today's memory verse: John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things I said to you."

The grace that God has for each of us is personal, just like our relationship with Him is personal! All of us need grace for different things. All of us need forgiveness for different things. God knows! It's personal between you and Him! Today's memory verse: 2 Timothy 2:19 "The Lord knows who belong to him."

Let's always give others the same compassion, forgiveness, and mercy that God has shown us through Jesus! Today's memory verse: "You will be judged in the same way that you judge others."

Wanna know why we don't ever feel fully happy and fully satisfied here on earth? It's because we are not made for earth! We are made for heaven! God certainly gives us loads and loads of blessings here on earth, but we will never be complete until we get to where we were made to be; in heaven with Him! Today's memory verse: John: 18:36 "My kingdom is from another place."

Jesus understands all the troubles and problems we face, because He has been there! He has been here! He was fully human and can relate with everything we face! Today's memory verse: Hebrews 4:15 "When Jesus lived on earth, He was tempted in every way that we are, but He did not sin."

The same way you like to decorate your room, God wants to decorate your heart! Your room displays things that you like and reflects who you are. God wants to do the same with your heart and make it look like Jesus lives there, because He does! Today's memory verse: 1 John 2:14 "You know the Father, The word of God lives in you."

Every word spoken by God accomplishes the purpose in which it was spoken! Every time you share the good news about Jesus, it may take a while, but that word always accomplishes it's purpose!
