The first week of the school holidays and the markets are heaving with life and love. It's easy to spot the people who are experiencing the Byron Farmers Market for the first time ... eyes popping, mouths filling, lips smiling.

Friends and fellow followers of all things simple and real. The earth beneath our feet, the blue sky above, our smiles of gratitude and tears of joy. These markets move me. I Love ...

I spun into Guitar Bizarre on Carlyle Street in Byron Bay to check out their selection of fresh new vinyl and ask owner Ben Mannaa why he loves it as much as I do.

This week the interviewer gets interviewed as Terry from Byron Video turns the camera on me and we do our first ever dual interview. We also hear from Friends of the Byron Library and a bit about a local B and B in the heart of town.

The markets provide a peaceful sanctuary to what ever else is going on in Byron. This week Splendour in the Grass comes to town and with it brings more traffic, heightened energy and a feeling of impatience .... thankfully the markets are here to remind us of what is real. Hallelujah.

It's really quite incredible how a microphone can capture the absolute essence of a place and it's people ... but then again Byron is no ordinary place and these are no ordinary people.

The Byron Farmers Market is not only filled with delicious local produce but also scrumptious members of our community both permanent and on loan that love to bask the morning sun sharing food, drinks and meaningful conversation. Have a listen to see what I mean .....

Here's a compilation containing a mere smidgen of the many unique voices I've gathered over the past three months at the Byron Farmers Market. My favourite is still a dear and elderly gentleman named John who you can hear singing "I've Got A Crush On You."

Into the arms of Bayfm strolls Kipori Baby Wolf Woods and into the microphone pours the blues soul of this talented musician here to check out our festival for the first time. Honoured that he chose to speak to us and hope to see him up on stage where he belongs next year.

This week you can hear about Coorabell Public School's raffle and fate, Djanbung Gardens open day and permaculture school, post-Bentley news and info along with dogs barking, birds singing and the market people loving every minute.

Roaming free with a microphone at this years 25th Anniversary of Bluesfest meant capturing the real magic straight out of the hearts and souls of the people I encountered. I'll let them tell you the rest.
