Elkanah and his family were faithful to the Lord in unfaithful times. Their faithfulness is seen in their regualr pilgrimages to worship the Lord.

God fulfilled His promises to redeem Ruth through Boaz. He always does it.

Boaz kept his word and redeemed Ruth, Naomi, and thier property. God always works to redeem his people. That includes you and me.

Ruth found her redeemer in Boaz. There is much we can learn from this passage about how we are to care for one another, show eacher other the true Redeemer, Jesus Christ, and live lives of godly character.

God graciously provided for Ruth and Naomi through Boaz. This is how God works in our lives as well.

Ruth meets Boaz and there is something special about him, for he's a man of godly character. We'd do well to be like him.

Naomi's itterness of heart from all her loss does not equal faithlessness in her life. It doesn't have to do that in yours either.

Ruth was a surprising convert to the true religion and the true God. Her commitment to Naomi proves her the genuineness of her conversion.

Elimelech and Naomi followed the spirit of their age and decided to do what seemed right in their own eyes. It had tragic consequences, but God remains gracious.

We don't know how Jonah responeded to God's question at the end of this book. That's the point. It leaves us asking ourselves, "How do you respond to God?"

Jonah knew how God would treat the Ninevites if they confessed their sins and repented of them, and he didn't want them to expereince God's grace. So, he'd rather die than watch them be forgiven.

God is full of grace and Jonah 3 displays it as it tells of God's giving Jonah a second chance and of him relenting of the judgment he was to bring to Nineveh.

Jonah had to learn humility and dependence upon God. Being stuck in the belly of the fish was the only way he'd learn.

God works mysteriously to accomplish his will and to bring people to faith and repentance.

Jonah wanted nothing to do with God's plan and will for his life, so he ran away from God's presence. Don't do that. It never ends well.

Paul dictated a letter to encourage our obedience in the gospel of grace. We are to be wise to do good and innocent of the evil.

Paul sent personal greetings to those he knew in the Romans congregation. This tells us something about how the Church was and still is formed.

Paul's desires was to go to places where no one has gone before in order to fulfill the ministry God has given him. We are to support those who go to places like that.

Paul had a call to be a minister to all people -- Gentiles and Jews. It is a call for us to preach the gospel to people around us.

We are unified in Christ. There is nothing that separate Jews and Gentiles any longer. And, this was God's plan from the beginning.

We don't live unto ourselves and our lives are not solely dedicated for our pleasure. We live for God and are meant to serve him and others.

We are to walk in the law of love and in mutual esteem for one another so as to bring glroy to God.

All Christians belong to the Lord and will be held accountable to Him aloine. We are not to bind anyone's conscience or place undue judgment on them.

We are to walk in the light of the gospel of Christ and and fulfill the law of God by loving our neighbors as ourselves.

Paul calls us to submit to the governing authorities because they have been placed over us by God.
