Titan Up The Defense 22- Defenders #8 09.03.2017

The Avengers/Defenders War is about to begin! Our hosts take a look at Defenders #8 (with just a smidge of Avengers #115 thrown in for flavor). Topics of discussion include: psychedelic ham chowder, mnemonic devices to help determine if mind control is being employed, garbage arrows, and morning DJ sound effects. All this, plus the debut of a new minutia segment! Pting! Boing! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Titan Up The Defense 21- New Teen Titans #10 01.03.2017

Our hosts take a gander at New Teen Titans #10, and dang! There is a lot of comic book in that comic book! Topics of discussion include: Muppet scientists, the unfortunate retconning of an interracial relationship, 4 bit gaming in a science fiction universe, Beast Boy has had a rough go of it, and why you should never ever use a hair dryer while making a phone call. That last one is pretty self ex...

Titan Up The Defense 20-Defenders #7 22.02.2017

Cory is back! The boys take a look at the delightfully wacky Defenders #7. Topics of discussion include: Hawkeye being the absolute worst, Attuma and his 'Rock'n Wrestle Connection' baddy buddies, Krush Groove, unnatural crustaceans, and the upcoming Avengers/Defenders War. Also, Hulk's favorite bean recipe, a contest winner is chosen, and Hub's new favorite villain is the Red Ghost. Phew! Oh, and...

Titan Up The Defense 19- New Teen Titans #9 16.02.2017

Cory was kidnapped by some aliens looking to topple his financial empire, so Hub is joined by musician Brian Mumford (of Dragging An Ox Through Water, Sun Foot, and The Deep Fried Boogie Band). Hub and Brian take a look at New Teen Titans #9 and attempt to answer such age old questions as: Can a kick to the crotch undo mind-control? (yes), Is "drunk at a wedding reception" a good look for a robot?...

Titan Up The Defense 18- Defenders #6 09.02.2017

The Defenders tussle with a stoner sorcerer named Cyrus Black. Looks like Steve Strange better brush up on his Defense Against the Dank Arts! Our hosts discuss power play moves for high priced businessmen, wax nostalgic about 80's British comedy, and debate which movies would most benefit from an LL Cool J theme song. Plus, learn how to enter a contest to win a thing Hub made! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Titan Up The Defense 17- New Teen Titans #8 02.02.2017

Hey, if you're one of those people who complain when politics come up, you might want to skip the first 3:10 of this one. Just a heads up. Other than that...The boys look at New Teen Titans #8. It's Hub's turn to try his hand at a terrible accent; robo-racism vs. regular kind; don't space punch horses; and more fashion foibles than you can bong a dinger off of! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Titan Up The Defense 16- Defenders #5 27.01.2017

Whew! This one is a doozy! The boys get even more off topic than usual as they cover Defenders #4. Discussion topics include: Be nice to hermit crabs or Hub might punch you, Patch the Pony, Steve Strange's basic dairy knowledge, and probably something about the comic they read. Probably. The audio might be a little jacked, but I did my best. Sorry.

Titan Up The Defense 15- New Teen Titans #7 19.01.2017

Good afternoon! Cory's back! Big things are afoot for the Titans! The team's not so mysterious benefactor is revealed. A Titans leaves the team! Maybe. Kind of. Our hosts discuss: deathbeds vs. Death Bed, other dimensions are no damn good, fart monsters vs. dick monsters, and NEVER get a jellyfish stuck on your head if Gizmo is around.

Titan Up The Defense 14- Defenders #4 12.01.2017

With Cory snowed in at his stately manor, Hub and his special guest host (and wife) Lisa do their best to unpack the problematic debut of a new team member in Defenders #4. Hub says "brazier" about a milliard times, Lisa does a pretty great Cory impression, and we all learn a little about the true meaning of chauvinism.

Titan Up The Defense 13- New Teen Titans #6 05.01.2017

The New Teen Titans gear up for their final (for now) confrontation with that deer headed demonic despot, Trigon. The teens politely avoid looking at Raven's mom's butt, we meet a Giant space Marmaduke, and the word "Bozo" makes a triumphant return. All this, plus way more digressions than usual. And that's really saying something. Oh, and in case you were planning on writing us about it, we are n...

Titan Up The Defense 12- Defenders #3 28.12.2016

Titan Up The Defense wishes you a Happy New Year, and Barbara Norris wishes you "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Our hosts take a look at the super trippy Defenders #3. Is the Nameless One really Australian? Can Namor be eaten? Will Dr. Strange start showing a modicum of self awareness? Tune in to find out! Also, snow angel tips! (Try not to do them face down, too chilly!) Stay tuned at the end for a special...

Titan Up The Defense 11- New Teen Titans #5 22.12.2016

Happy Seasonal Holiday of your choice! Our hosts are a bit loopy on holiday cheer as they discuss: the secret origin of Punchy (the Hawaiian Punch spokesbeing), Goronn is no Fonzworth Bentley, Axel Rose is a wannabe Trigon, and the importance of proper comma use in the phrase "Don't give me that garbage, Dick!"

Titan Up The Defense 10- Defenders #2 14.12.2016

The Defenders head to Nepal to look for the Silver Surfer and, well... it doesn't go great. For anyone. The boys talk about silver man's Burden, fart etiquette, pre Boaz anthropology, and what to yell if you're drunk at a puppet show and the puppeteer is spending too much time on pre show exposition. Also, are the rest of the Defenders Dr. Strange's back up dancers?

Titan Up The Defense 9- New Teen Titans #4 07.12.2016

It's Titans vs JLA! Cory's dad has some serious gravitas, Trigon's an evil Doogie Howser, and The Fearsome Five's plan makes no goddamn sense. There's some space wizards, some pretty good punches and kicks, and Hub pitches a comic in which Dr. Light sits in some pudding. All this, plus the grossest intro yet!

Titan Up The Defense 8- Defenders #1 01.12.2016

We tackle The Defenders #1. Hub discusses an episode of the Thundercats he vaguely remembers, the cops in this issue have a pretty good Hulk plan, Cory has a complicated relationship with Huey Lewis, and there are a couple of real ugly baddies. The important takeaway though, and I can't stress this enough, is that Hub is a human man from Earth.

Titan Up The Defense 7- New Teen Titans #3 24.11.2016

Hey everybody, I think the sound on this one might be a little jacked. Had a ton of technical problems with the recording. The important thing is that Starfire's planet is dumb and she might have made the whole place up while looking at a spice cabinet. Hub makes a lot of dumb references to old school rap. Happy Thanksgiving!

Titan Up The Defense 6- Marvel Feature #3 16.11.2016

Hub and Cory take a look at the Defenders in Marvel Feature #3, and dang it is one crazy issue! Our hosts go on (if this is even possible) more tangents than usual. There is a goofy ass space monster named Xemnu, some pie tossing Astronauts, a substitute Admiral, and Hub coins the phrase "poop-deck donnybrook". It's a real poop-deck donnybrook.

Titan Up The Defense 5- New Teen Titans #2 09.11.2016

Wow. This is a weird time to put out a podcast. Perhaps there is value in distraction. I love you guys. Most of this was recorded a few days ago. Cory and Hub yammer on about soup, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, and I think they mention New Teen Titans #2 in there somewhere. Some dude named Deathstroke makes his debut. Oh, and don't let Hub program your robots! For a lot of reasons.

Titan Up The Defense 4- Marvel Feature #2 02.11.2016

It's a special spooky Halloween episode! I know, I know, it's a couple of days late, but isn't the fluidity of time the most frightening terror of all? I mean, next to werewolves. Other frights include: Dr. Strange potentially being a MRA, a second moon that's even worse than the original, and the Hulk being all hopped up on disco biscuits. Spooky!!

Titan Up The Defense 3- New Teen Titans #1 26.10.2016

It's New Teen Titans #1! Hub and Cory disagree over which New Titan is the creepiest, but agree that this comic is super rad. Hub recommends the films Halloween III: Season of the Witch and Death Bed: The Bed That Eats People. Cory shows off his beautiful singing voice. Then they both talk a surprising amount of shit about the moon.

Titan Up The Defense 2- Marvel Feature #1 19.10.2016

It's our first Defenders episode! Cory and Hub talk some Defenders! For a while. Then they get distracted. Our hosts discuss jujitsu on ecstasy, why Dr. Strange is the personification of privilege, and Hub pitches a Sub-Mariner/Aqualad buddy cop movie. Oh, and Cory does a pretty solid Maine accent!

Titan Up The Defense 1- DC Comics Presents #26 13.10.2016

Good golly, it's finally here! The first episode of Titan Up The Defense! Hub and Cory tackle the New Teen Titans' first appearance in DC Comics Presents #26. There's a lot to cover, so naturally our hosts drink too much "podcast juice" and talk about how much they love "The Golden Girls" and that one Nelson video. New podcast, same old podcast.

Teen Titan Wasteland 60- The Golden Jupiter Awards 14.09.2016

This is it! Our hosts wrap up their coverage of the Teen Titans by handing out some Awards for the best and worst that the series had to offer. Who will take home the coveted Golden Jupiter award for Best Dick Punch? Tune in to find out! We love you guys and we'll see you in a few weeks to start in on the New Teen Titans.

Teen Titan Wasteland 59- Brave and the Bold #149 08.09.2016

It's the Teen Titans final appearance in their original form. Hub and Cory are a little punchy. We get the results of the Octopus Collective Noun vote, Cory does some more stellar accent work, there's a whole bunch of Oliver Twist references, and we talk about how "Who's the Boss?" is the dumbest name for a TV show ever. Enjoy! Enjoy!

Teen Titans 58- The Brave And The Bold #102 01.09.2016

Cory's off in Atlantis babysitting for Aquababy, so Hub is joined by Leigh Marble. They take a look at Brave and the Bold #102. There's a bit more octopus talk (although not nearly enough), we see that Bob Haney's Batman is the best Batman, and see that passive resistance works best when accompanied by punches and zip-guns.
