Federal law specifies that data supplied to the government on an income tax return is confidential. It further prescribes that it's a felony to breach that confidentiality by leaking income tax return information. Still, such leaks occur, and it seems that no one is ever punished for it. Now that it appears that the House Ways and Means Committee will be furnished copies of President Trump's tax r...

Voting When the FAIRtax Is Passed - A Major Change 04.11.2022 10:30
It's easy to tell if a mechanic has done a good job fixing your car. It's not so easy to judge a politician's job performance. In this week's Chairman's Report, Steve Hayes shows how passing the FAIRtax will make it easier to tell if your Member of Congress has done a good job and deserves to be rehired for another term.

With the FAIRtax, Federal Incentive Credits Will Work Better 24.10.2022 8:43
Have you ever noticed that when the federal government wants to provide a financial incentive for something, it never comes in the form of a direct incentive payment? Instead, it comes as a federal tax credit. As Steve Hayes explains in this week's Chairman's Report, there's a better way to do it--the FAIRtax.
How Long Would It Take to Find an Honest Man in DC? 14.10.2022 11:25
Diogenes was a Greek philosopher famous for carrying a lantern in search of and honest man. If he could visit today's DC, how long would it take him to find a man or woman who would be truthful about why the DC elites continue to prop up a failed income/payroll tax system? Probably quite a while.
Why Has the FAIRtax Not Become Law? 07.10.2022 13:21
This week's Chairman's Report is a reprint of an article written by economics professor David Kendall. It offers some insightful analysis of why the FAIRtax has languished in Congress for 23 years, and what we FAIRtax advocates must do to eventually get it passed.
The IRS - Agents of the Police State 23.09.2022 10:08
People expect federal agencies like the IRS to performs the jobs delegated to them by Congress in a fair and impartial manner consistent with the law. They instinctively understand that no one should receive either favorable or unfavorable treatment based on their ideology or political affiliation. Unfortunately, that's not always the case. The IRS has a long history of being used as a weapon agai...
The Insanity of DC Thinking 16.09.2022 7:40
Most people would consider it bad news when unemployment goes up, wages stop increasing, gas prices rise, interest rates rise and home purchases decline. Not so in DC. Those things are cheered in DC because it means more people will have to depend on the government for their existence. It's the same insane thinking that "bad is good" that keeps the income tax system in place when there's a much be...
$80 Billion to the IRS - WHAT! 09.09.2022 8:04
Of all the objectionable provisions in the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, giving $80 billion to the IRS has to be one of the worst. The agency has a long history of mismanagement and incompetence to go along with its history of bullying honest taxpayers and demanding money from people who don't have the resources to challenge them in court. This is an especially grievous in light of the...
Labor Day 02.09.2022 12:51
This week, we celebrate labor in America. But it looks like the politicians still haven't gotten the message. Instead of celebrating and rewarding labor, they continue to punish it with heavy taxation. If the politicians really wanted to reward labor (and thereby get more of it), they would quit taxing the money we receive in exchange for our labor. They would replace the income tax with the FAIRt...
The FAIRtax vs. the Income Tax - Continuity vs. Chaos 26.08.2022 8:42
This week's Chairman's Report is guest written by CPA Jade Walle. He notes that given the choice, people will choose continuity and calm over chaos and disorder every time. Comparing the FAIRtax to the income tax, it's easy to see which one brings calm and continuity and which one brings chaos and disorder. With the IRS set to become bigger and meaner than it's ever been, it's time to demand that...
The McCabe/Comey IRS Audits 19.08.2022 8:33
Is it a coincidence that both James Comey and Andrew McCabe, two FBI directors deemed traitors by then President Trump, were both selected for the most intense and invasive audit that the IRS conducts? It's possible that this was a random occurrence, but the odds are less than the odds of winning the Texas Powerball lottery. Regardless of party affiliation or ideological leaning, everyone should a...

Really Save Social Security and Medicare - Pass the FAIRtax 05.08.2022 13:55
The Summary of the 2022 Annual Reports published by the Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees has some grim news. That's because it's based on inaccurate numbers and unrealistic assumptions. In this week's Chairm...

See why as this week's Chairman's Report reprints an article the Mr. Childs wrote for the New York Sun.
Congress Gives Their Staffs Double Digit Raises 15.07.2022 11:11
Members of Congress clearly believe that the rules that govern the financial lives of ordinary people don't apply to them. In this week's Chairman's Report, AFFT president Steve Hayes documents yet another instance that proves that Congress and the Federal government not only live by their own rules, but they have no idea how changes in the tax law affect their spending. The solution is to make th...
A Fresh Black Eye for the IRS 08.07.2022 10:13
It has just recently come to light that over a year ago, the IRS purposely destroyed over 30 million paper filed return documents because they couldn't process them. Clearly, the IRS is not capable of doing the job it's supposed to be doing, and pouring more money into it isn't going to fix the problem. There's only one solution. Abolish the IRS by replacing the income tax with the FAIRtax.

There are multiple reasons why we have a supply chain crisis in the United States, but the simple reason is that for the most part, the products we want and the components that go into them are manufactured overseas. Why? Because our insane income/payroll tax system has driven American manufacturing offshore. We'd have a much smaller supply chain problem if more things were manufactured in the Uni...
We Told You So 10.06.2022 9:01
Back in 2017, a group of distinguished economists accurately predicted the positive effects that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act would have. Of course, that didn't stop them from being attacked and ridiculed by many pundits of the day.
