It's so common around volunteers and staff members to not know where to draw healthy lines between personal life and ministry life. After 25 years of experience on a church staff I've got some sure ways to help you set those.

If we don't do ministry right it can destroy our emotions, cause us to walk away from serving, and even walk away from Jesus all together. That's what we call BURNOUT . But if you know why burnout happens, you can keep ministry a joy in your life, and it never becomes a burden.

My leadership wants the impossible. That seems to happen often in ministry. Today we talk about why that happens and how we should respond.

It’s easy to misinterpret what you don’t understand. That leads to wrong thinking about your leadership and eventually you wont let them lead you anymore. You are limiting God’s influence in your life, by closing yourself off from your leadership.

Ministry can’t be about others, if it’s about you. Selfishness is the lid on your life. Period! Using ministry as a way to fix your own life wont work because wrong motivations will always lead you away from God. Serving is the solution, but GOOD NEWS, it can help!

It seems obvious that not working hard is a bad thing, but the real effects of that small decision are much more significant than most people think. There's a hidden principle at work that is absolutely changing your future.

There are some subtle things that will absolutely cause you to fail but you don't have to fall in that trap. Not only will these things cause you to fail in ministry, they will hinder your relationships with God and be an open door to the enemy to ruin your personal life.
