Gratitude is becoming a rare commodity. We sometimes view such thanklessness as simply being rude, but the scriptures seem to indicate that it often rises to the level of sin. How much more so when our interactions with God lack gratitude? This week we’ll gather to focus on making certain that prayers of gratitude are a regular part of our daily regimen.

We know that the scriptures have us frequently in prayer, but have you noticed how often those prayers happen in groups? Why might God want us to pray collectively? Join us this week as we discuss the Biblical imperative to pray together.

When we think prayer, we generally understand it as “asking God for something”.  And when we ask God for things we generally assume the answer is “nope”.  Why is this?  Could it be that we’re doing it wrong?  Join us this week as we consider what it means to intercede in prayer.

What is the purpose of punishment?  Humans certainly have their reasons, but when God punishes a nation what is the purpose?  In Hosea chapters 8-10 we’ll read about the punishments that God is going to inflict on the Northern Kingdom and our goal this week is to consider what God’s intends to accomplish. 

In our first foray into Hosea we saw how God compared Israel to an adulteress.  This week we’ll move ahead in Hosea, as we examine chapters 4-7 where the prophet spells out the transgressions that God finds so repugnant: sins and mindsets that may look all too familiar.

What does it feel like to be God? A question like that generally focuses on power and knowledge, but how about when it comes to God’s relationship with humans? What is it like for God to experience rejection, ungratefulness, and outright rebellion? Join us as we begin our study of the prophecy of Hosea by seeing ourselves “From God’s Perspective.”

Keeping your head in the fight involves remembering that the fight is temporal and that there is something that comes after the fighting.  Join us as we wrap up our discussion of spiritual warfare by discussing what we’re fighting for; what we’re hoping for; what we’re heading for:  HOME!

In sending us out to battle God does not send us empty handed. He has given us His own armor as a defense against the Adversary. And yet, when we consider many of those dressed for battle they ended up beheaded, stoned, or crucified. Join us as we consider the armor of God and how it equips us for defense.

If spiritual warfare is the work of the church, then we should expect to see it occurring in the book of Acts (the story of the early church).  Not only is this battle presented in the book of Acts, but it gives us excellent insight on how to conduct the battle.  Join us as we look to the plans and procedures for spiritual battle described in the book of Acts.

How does a person conduct spiritual warfare?  The unconventional nature of this combat is proven again this week as we discuss our primary weapon in this battle: a living, powerful, decisive, and dangerous text.  Join us as we discuss wielding the weapon that is “The Word!”

So what are demons and what do they do?  What have the scriptures indicated about these beings and their impact on our lives?  These are the questions among many others that we’ll seek to answer in our time together this week as we continue our discussion of the supernatural realm by examining what the scripture teaches regarding “Demons”.
