In Psalm 23:5a, David makes the audacious claim that God prepares a table before him in the presence of his enemies -- a symbol of ultimate joy in awful circumstances. What might it look like to eat at this table and taste this joy today?

David uses the imagery of a rod and staff to describe how a good shepherd brings comfort to his sheep. David encourages us that our Shepherdcomforts us, through his written Word (the rod) and his living Spirit within us (the staff), in such a way that we need not walk in fear.

Obedience is one of our least favourite words. It's been that way since the beginning. See why it's included in Psalm 23's vision of an abundant life.

You're probably exhausted. We all are. Where can we find our deepest rest? Psalm 23 offers a pathway into rest for weary souls.
