1 Peter 3:13-3:15 | Have you ever felt like you were just going through the motions of life? Have you found the cultural norms of entitled and self-centered tendencies rubbing off on you and leaving you deeply unsatisfied? The fifth and final practice found in resilient disciples has everything to do with living lives packed full of meaning and purpose by engaging in countercultural mission.

Matthew 5:9-5:9 | Jesus said, ?"Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called ?"Sons of God". How can we fight the good fight of Christian Peacemaking? It is easy to steer into the pitfalls of combativeness or passivity. But Jesus calls us to a better way, a Gospel way.

Mark 4:35-4:41 | In the middle of the storms of life it's easy to begin to question who God is and His care for us in our lives. Our text today tells us that in the midst of the storm we can either get lost in the waves or look to Jesus. Storms don't lead to our destruction but rather our dependence and faith on a Saviour.

Matthew 5:8-5:8 | There is an incredible blessing attached to this Beatitude: You shall see God! There's just one problem: Our hearts aren't particularly pure. So the important questions we must wrestle with are these: Do I have a pure heart? and if not, How can I get a pure heart?

Matthew 5:7-5:7 | As followers of Jesus, the mercy we are to extend to others flows out of the mercy that God has extended to us.

Matthew 5:6-5:6 | "At the end of the day" there's nothing that matters more than relationship. The good life according to Jesus means that our relationships - first with Him, and then with others, are right. This truly is the #blessed life.

Matthew 5:5-5:5 | Blessed are the assertive, strong, cut-throat, cheaters, famous, powerful, and workaholics, for they shall inherit the earth is the way the world seems to work. Yet Jesus says that it's the meek who shall inherit the earth. What does that mean? How does that work? And who will you believe?

Matthew 5:4-5:4 | Mourning and blessing seem to be total opposites and yet Jesus declares that the one who mourns over their sin is truly blessed. As we mourn over our sin, we find the comfort of what Jesus has done so much more gracious.

Matthew 5:3-5:3 | The Sermon on the Mount is widely considered the greatest sermon ever preached by the greatest person who ever lived. The sermon begins with eight beatitudes that describe the good life according to Jesus. The first is about the poverty of spirit. Without it, no one enters the Kingdom of Heaven.

Habakkuk 3:17-3:19 | It can be easy to fall into the trap of allowing our circumstances to control how we think and feel. However, the book of Habakkuk reminds us that we can rejoice no matter what is going on. God is always at work, our salvation is secure and he will not abandon us.

Lamentations 3:1-3:66 | Hope springs from truth rehearsed. What is the truth we are to rehearse and how do we rehearse it? In the depths of his suffering, Lamentations 3 reveals how Jeremiah was able to pivot from hopelessness and grief to hope in the faithfulness of God whose mercies are new every morning.

Lamentations 2:1-2:22 | We wrestle with God's presence, or lack thereof, in the midst of our suffering. Is he there? Does he care? What about the sin I know is in my own life? Lamentations 2 helps us understand how we should respond to sin and suffering in light of God's response to it.
